Brightburn director David Yarovesky considers DC Studios co-head James Gunn a mentor and would be ecstatic to join the fledgling Dcu under TheSuicide Squad and Superman director's stewardship. The filmmaker would also love to make a Brightburn sequel.
Yarovesky revealed his intentions in an interview with ScreenRant. "Am I trying to get into the DC world? Yeah," he declared. "I mean, if the right thing came along. It's just about if the right thing comes along. I'd love to work with James again. He's my mentor. I adore James, and he has been incredible to me. That's really what it is–finding that right thing. But it could happen." The director is thrilled Gunn is helming Superman, which hits theaters this July. He compared the film to Brightburn, essentially a dark interpretation of the Man of Steel's tale.

Peacemaker premiered in 2022 and this year, Season 2 will follow after a long break late this summer. The TV series will carry over from the Dceu to the new Dcu.
The John Cena-led Peacemaker, a spinoff from the 2021 James Gunn-directed The Suicide Squad, was one of the first Gunn productions before he took over as co-ceo of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. With a clear plan for the future, Peacemaker Season 2 will bring back the same characters, and it will be canon to the new universe. Season 2 also received a new update from star Danielle Brooks, who compared the show to her Netflix hit show Orange Is the New Black in an interview with ScreenRant.
While promoting her new movie, A Minecraft Movie, Brooks also shared a new update on Season 2. The Oscar-nominated actress reflected on whether the shift in the Dcu will change the pacing for the series,...

While all eyes are currently on the arrival of Superman this summer, another Dcu project that is coming up fast is the second season of Peacemaker. The John Cena-led series, which is a spinoff of The Suicide Squad and one of the only projects to have straddled the Dceu and Dcu, is set to premiere Season 2 in August, and there are many fans wondering how the transition will impact the series.
While discussing her upcoming role in A Minecraft Movie with ScreenRant, Peacemaker returnee Danielle Brooks, who plays Leota Adebayo, explained how things are different this time around as part of the Dcu. She said:
“You know, when we first did Season 1 of Peacemaker, it was during the pandemic, so we didn’t even do press for it. We didn’t have a premiere. The fans took to it, and they loved it. And now, James is taking over the DC Universe,...

Much has been said about Superman's internal test screenings in recent weeks. Positives and negatives have been shared by those who claim to have seen it, though the consensus is largely good and points to this being a strong start for the Dcu in theaters.
That's not overly surprising given James Gunn's track record in the comic book movie realm, though the filmmaker's approach isn't to everyone's liking and that's called his suitability for a Clark Kent story into question.
Will Superman be more Guardians of the Galaxy than The Suicide Squad or entirely its own thing? That remains to be seen. Talking during The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider shared another brief update about what he's been hearing.
"I got a recent test screening report from somebody who saw it and, yeah, they liked it," he explained. "They thought David delivered as the Man of Steel. They thought...

Director David Yarovesky addresses his collaboration with James Gunn on the Superman-inspired horror movie Brightburn and reveals whether he'd like to reunite with Gunn on a Dcu project. In 2019, David Yarovesky directed and James Gunn wrote the superhero horror Brightburn, which centers around a kid with very similar powers to Superman. But instead of using his immense power to protect people and fight crime, Brandon Breyer attacks his adoptive family and causes a major tragedy in his hometown. Brightburn precedes James Gunn's first DC project, The Suicide Squad, by only two years, and it precedes James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie by six years.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Brightburn director David Yarovesky recalls working with James Gunn on a similar movie to the one Gunn is currently making for the Dcu, describing Brightburn as the "punk rock anti-establishment" version of Superman. Yarovesky praises Gunn, says he would like to enter "the DC world,...

While it once seemed improbable, it looks like Coyote vs. Acme may soon be coming to a theater near you!
According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment is in advanced negotiations to acquire the animated/live-action hybrid feature from Warner Bros, in a deal that's estimated to be in the $50 million range. The independent distributer-financier previously rescued The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which is currently playing in theaters.
In recent years, Ketchup has also been behind the releases of Weekend in Taipei, Goodrich, Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Memory, Ferrari, Hypnotic, and Bushwick.
The trade does note that the deal could still fall apart, but things are progressing in the right direction for now. If/when the deal is finalized, expect to see Coyote vs. Acme hit theaters sometime in 2026.
The studio previously tried to sell the film early last year for approximately $70 million, which is believed to...

James Gunn is so back and this time, he has brought David Corenswet with him. Probably creating one of the best Superman movies of all time, the world is very excited (and worried) about James Gunn’s Superman.

However, insider reports allege that an initial test screening has taken place for Gunn’s Superman. Comparisons to Henry Cavill’s Superman were made and the thing that Superman fans were worried about? Well, it allegedly worked out beautifully for David Corenswet’s Man of Steel.
Fans are worried about James Gunn’s love for humor
Some talks were revived on the internet which stated that there would be some funny moments from James Gunn’s upcoming film which genuinely concerned the fans. The scenes were humor-filled jokes (which is rare for a DC film/character) and fans were a tad concerned about the...

Superman is one of the year's most highly anticipated movies, so it's not exactly surprising to see so much buzz - both positive and negative - surrounding James Gunn's long-awaited reboot.
Test screenings have dominated the conversation in recent weeks and, in the latest edition of his newsletter, Jeff Sneider shared a few more details.
Chief among them is that he's heard Superman's current runtime is roughly 140 minutes. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was Gunn's longest movie at 150 minutes, while his Dceu debut, The Suicide Squad, was 132 minutes.
"I spoke to someone this weekend who has seen 'Superman,' and they really liked it," the insider explained. "They said David Corenswet delivers as the Man of Steel and that the 'jokey moments' I mentioned on my podcast, 'The Hot Mic,' were initially viewed out of context, but worked much better within the flow of the edit.

A new DC Universe report reveals how long James Gunn's Superman movie may end up being when the film hits theaters this summer. While the Man of Steel hasn't had a solo film in several years, DC Studios is changing that with the arrival of Gunn's Superman movie in a couple of months. With Superman being one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2025, many are waiting to learn as much as possible about Clark Kent's cinematic return.
In a new report from The InSneider the outlet claims that the upcoming Superman film with David Corenswet currently has a runtime of 2 hours and 2 minutes. This would make Gunn's Superman movie the shortest of the hero's roster since the sequels to the Christopher Reeve films. At the time of this story's publication, DC Studios has not commented on the Superman runtime report.

Four and a half years ago, Sony’s Columbia Pictures announced that they were developing a reboot / reimagining of the 1997 “nature run amok” thriller Anaconda (watch it Here), with the intention of “taking what was a simple and relatively cheap programmer with a B-movie concept and event-izing it in scope and budget.” Back in 2023, we heard that Tom Gormican would be writing and directing the film as his follow-up to the well-received action comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. In recent months, Gormican’s Anaconda reboot, which takes a meta approach, has been making its way through production with a cast that includes Jack Black (School of Rock), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad), Steve Zahn (Joy Ride), Selton Mello (Bury Your Dead), and Ione Skye (Zodiac). Now, Rudd has given an interview where he describes the film as a “totally unique” meta comedy.

James Gunn has a huge responsibility on his shoulders. The co-CEO of DCU Studios has the task of rejuvenating DC’s universe of live-action adaptations, a decision that was imperative after the lackluster performance of the Dceu.
To his advantage, Gunn has a lot of experience. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 director knows a thing or two about turning around movies that are going sideways (he did a fantastic job with The Suicide Squad). Many back him to change the fortune of an entire universe.
James Gunn‘s run at the helm of DCU might have already begun with Creature Commandos, but the real litmus test of the DCU’s success will be Superman.
The David Corenswet starrer has a lot riding on it.

Writer, director, and producer James Gunn has quite a bit resting on his shoulders as the co-head of DC Studios (with Peter Safran), but nothing feels as important as the success of his upcoming "Superman" film. "Superman" is going to be crucial not only for DC Studios but for parent company Warner Bros. as well, and its success will determine the future of the new DC Universe, which will expand into films and TV shows about other DC comics heroes and villains. The first trailer for "Superman" showed other Justice League characters like Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) and Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion) as well as Supes, which made some fans worry that Gunn might lean into his tendency toward ensemble pieces.

At the end of 2022, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker director James Gunn was named co-ceo of DC Studios alongside veteran producer Peter Safran.
Gunn is believed to be focusing primarily on the creative side of the Dcu and, provided nothing goes disastrously wrong, is expected to remain in his first executive role for anywhere up to a decade. The filmmaker has already worked on Creature Commandos and Peacemaker season 2 and is currently in post-production on Superman.
According to a new report from Puck, Gunn is one of many industry figures who have hybrid deals covering their creative and executive duties. In Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige's case, for example, he's likely paid separately for his President and executive producer positions.
Gunn, meanwhile, looks set to score as many as three paydays for his work on Superman.

For eight seasons and 96 episodes, from 2006 to 2013, the series Dexter ran on Showtime, telling the story of Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who is also a vigilante serial killer. Clyde Phillips was showrunner on Dexter for the first four seasons, and in 2021 he and Showtime brought us the revival series Dexter: New Blood… which, for a time, also seemed to be the end of it all. But that’s not the case. Showtime has tasked Phillips with continue to build up the Dexter franchise, with the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin premiering back in December and a New Blood follow-up called Dexter: Resurrection heading for a June premiere. Filming on Dexter: Resurrection is currently underway – and Variety has revealed that the cast includes David Dastmalchian of Late Night with the Devil, the Ant-Man franchise, and The Suicide Squad. Longtime James Gunn collaborator Nathan Fillion is set to make his Dcu debut as Guy Gardner in The Suicide Squad director's Superman reboot, and it sounds like this first big-screen take on the Green Lantern is going to stick pretty closely to his prickly comic book counterpart.
While speaking to TV Line about his long-running series, The Rookie, Fillion shared some new details on his interpretation of Gardner.
"He's a jerk!," said the actor when asked what separates Guy from his fellow ring-slinging heroes. "What's important to know is, you don't have to be good to be a Green Lantern; you just have to be fearless. So Guy Gardner is fearless, and he is not very good. He's not nice, which is very freeing as an actor because you just think to yourself, what is the most selfish, self-serving thing I can do in this moment? And that's the answer.

Years after its announcement, the live-action Duke Nukem filmadaptation has received an optimistic, if not vague, update.
In 2018, John Cena was confirmed to star in a film adaptation of the raunchy Duke Nukem video game franchise. While the project has been in limbo for quite some time, producer Brad Fuller gave a vague but optimistic update to Screen Rant. During the South by Southwest film festival (SXSW), Fuller mostly spoke about his upcoming film The Astronaut but also gave a long-awaited update on Duke Nukem.
Fuller confirmed that the project hasn't been dropped yet and is still in development. Unfortunately, this was the only new information Fuller could provide, stating, "If I had information for you, I would tell you. I just know it's something we're talking about and trying to figure out."

James Gunn has become a name synonymous with the superhero genre, and while he's done other projects outside of the comic book movies - both before and since his big break with the first Guardians of the Galaxy flick - you can't deny that superheroes are his bread and butter. He now turns his attention to overseeing DC Studios' new DC Universe, along with Peter Safran, which will look to start a brand new chapter in the storied history of DC Comics characters on the big screen.
With the official start of his DC Universe coming out in July of this year with his Superman film (which Gunn himself directed) and the second season of Peacemaker also arriving at some point this year, let's take a look back at all of the DC projects Gunn has worked on thus far, and see if we can find a way of ranking them from worst to best.

In Anthony and Joe Russo's 2018 blockbuster "Avengers: Infinity War," Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) share a romantic moment, knowing they are facing a series of difficult confrontations with the genocidal alien warlord Thanos (Josh Brolin). As Star-Lord and Gamora let out their emotions and tenderly kiss, they are interrupted by a crunching noise. Their friend Drax (Dave Bautista) is standing silently in the corner, very slowly snacking on a bag of zargnuts. Startled, Star-Lord asks Drax how long he had been there. Drax says he had been there for a full hour. He also explains that he had been practicing a new stealth technique that rendered him invisible, provided he stands perfectly still.
Drax, of course, had not turned invisible, and had merely assumed he was because his friends failed to notice him. This is in character for Drax, who belongs to an alien species that has no concepts of metaphor,...

Frank Grillo had a busy 2024. The actor spent 10 months shooting various projects in Atlanta, including Taylor Sheridan's Tulsa King, the new Supermanmovie, and season two of the DC show Peacemaker. The busy production schedules often intersected with each other, keeping Grillo from focusing on one role at a time. While shooting Tulsa King, Grillo couldn't change his appearance, which made it difficult when he went to play his character in the DC Universe, who had already appeared with a specific style in Creature Commandos.

When it debuted in 2008, "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" reintroduced a more lighthearted tone to the Dark Knight's animated escapades. Ever since "Batman: The Animated Series" attained legendary status with its mature storylines and alluringly dark aesthetic, Batman cartoons had tried somewhat to emulate that approach. But "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" diverged, using a more comedic tone to appeal to younger audiences and discarding the brooding, noirish elements that had made "B:tas" such a hit.
Based on "The Brave and the Bold" comic series which ran from 1955 to 1983, the show saw Batman teaming up with various and mostly lesser-known DC heroes, with each episode telling a standalone story involving the Dark Knight and his chosen teammate of the week. Zanier characters such as Detective Chimp would show up in this more outlandish show, which also featured more obscure villains including Starro, the main villain in James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad.

As is so often the case, we've now heard good and bad things from Superman's early internal test screenings. It's always best to take chatter like that with a pinch of salt, though we perhaps shouldn't be surprised that the reboot is drawing mixed reviews.
While filmmaker James Gunn has a great track record, the Man of Steel isn't a character it's easy to make relevant in today's world. The hero is viewed as overpowered and old-fashioned by some, meaning even the best Superman movie is unlikely to strike a chord with them.
Today, scooper @MyTimeToShineH brings word that someone they've spoken to has seen Superman and shared the following:

As we prepare for the 97th Academy Awards this weekend, here’s a reminder of the Oscars Cheer Moment, and the weirdest year in the body’s history.
On Valentine’s Day 2022, the American Academy of Motion Pictures unveiled a pair of awards so prestigious they could only be accurately communicated via hashtag.
#OscarsFanFavorite and #OscarsCheerMoment were the latest in a string of attempts from the world’s most famous awards body to stay popular and relevant. The last was in 2018 when, in an attempt to reverse the ratings freefall the ceremony had found itself in over the last decade, Film Academy president John Bailey proposed an official Popular Film category – the first new competition since Best Animated Film in 2001.
Months later, the award was slipped quietly into the organisation’s back pocket, after Academy members and the public at large united to declare the idea a silly one. Making a popular film,...

Thunderbolts*, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's answer to the Suicide Squad, comes out on May 2. Director Jake Schreier will surely want to distance himself from those kinds of comparisons, but it’s hard not to see the similarities between the two stories. Thunderbolts* stars a rag-tag team of misunderstood antiheroes working for a shadowy organization ruled over by a badass woman. If Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) getting an expendable group of souped-up villains to do her bidding sounds similar to Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) pulling the strings in 2016’s Suicide Squad and 2021’s The Suicide Squad, that’s because it is.
Still, Schreier’s take on Thunderbolts* revamps the typical Thunderbolts lineup from Marvel Comics and gives it an MCU twist. There’s no sign of Daniel Brühl’s Helmut Zemo, nor the original comic book roster of Goliath, Beetle, Fixer, Moonstone, and Screaming Mimi. Instead, the live-action Thunderbolts...

I’ve been a medical drama girl since before I realized I was a medical drama girl.
This realization didn’t come until roughly two years ago, which is likely amusing to many of you who followed my work, but I digress.
When CBS greenlit its own medical drama that also served as a detective procedural, inspired by the iconic Arthur Conan Doyle character and starring forever crush Morris Chestnut, they got my attention.

Fast-forward to us getting three episodes into Watson Season 1, and well, to put it mildly, it does not have my attention.
Lest anyone is inclined to box a girl in when she hates the confinements of them, genre-bending is more appealing than anything when watching a series.

Peacemaker Season 2 Official Image Reveals The Return Of A Fan-Favourite The Suicide Squad Character

Peacemaker season 2 is set to premiere on HBO and Max this August and creator James Gunn has just dropped a first official look at Steve Agee as the returning John Economos.
Introduced in 2021's The Suicide Squad, the character has become a firm fan favourite and, after taking on a key supporting role in Peacemaker's first season, made his Dcu debut in Creature Commandos last year. As Amanda Waller's right-hand man, it's unclear what he'll bring to the table when this show returns, especially as Rick Flag Sr. is expected to be calling the shots in A.R.G.U.S.
This is only the second official image from Peacemaker season 2 after Gunn previously teased a mysterious new villain (we've included that at the bottom of this post). DC Stduios has yet to share anything showing Christopher Smith in action, though promo art revealed the anti-hero's new helmet design last year.

When Peacemaker premiered in 2022, its opening theme became an instant hit with fans. According to James Gunn, the show will be changing tunes in Season 2.
Speaking at a press event (via Collider), Gunn revealed that Season 2 would feature a completely new song. "I don't know when they're going to see it," he said. "I was talking about [it] the other day because, one, it was really fun in the first [season]. One of the things is, we totally kept that from the public until the first episode aired, and it flipped people out, which was the most fun about it. Now people know it's coming, so it's not as exciting in that respect."

With James Gunn’s Superman set to hit theaters in July, the conversation around the film has taken an unexpected turn. As the release nears, questions about how the movie fits into today’s cultural landscape—especially under the second Trump administration—are being raised. When asked about what makes his version of Superman relevant to the current moment, Gunn had a surprising response.
“In some ways, I would say it’s the right Superman because I don’t think he’s a part of the cultural moment,” Gunn said. “He’s a character that stands for something that is solid—basic human morals, integrity, protecting the weak, being good to people, and being honest. He stands for the rules that don’t change.”
Different reporter pressed Gunn on Hollywood’s growing hesitation to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion (Dei) efforts, especially given Trump’s push to remove such initiatives from government and public life.

James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie is set to redefine the Man of Steel for the new DC Universe, starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent. With Superman (2025) marking a fresh start under Gunn’s leadership, anticipation is high, but so are concerns. The film boasts a large ensemble, featuring not only Superman but also Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Krypto the Superdog, and several DC heroes like Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. Given past criticisms of overcrowded superhero films, fans are worried that Superman could lose its focus.

James Gunn is cooking up something big. And no, it’s not just another Guardians of the Galaxy mixtape, it’s an entirely new DC Universe, and this time, he’s bringing in the Teen Titans. If you thought The Suicide Squad was chaotic, wait until you see what happens when you throw a group of superpowered, angsty teenagers into the mix.
With Ana Nogueira penning the script, it’s safe to say we’re in for something fresh. The Teen Titans have always been a fan-favorite team, blending action, heart, and the kind of interpersonal drama that would make even reality TV producers take notes. But now that the movie is officially in development, it’s time to ask the big question, who’s playing who?

With a six-year outlook for DC between series and films, what would be the warning signs that the brand becomes more of a machine than a place for organic stories?
DC co-bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran were asked such at Friday’s press day for the studio in which they provided an update on the projects they announced two years ago.
“I’d quit,” exclaimed Gunn. “I’m being serious! I’m not going to do this unless I think we’re doing good stuff that’s cool, that works.”
Cooling down from the blunt statement, the Superman filmmaker specified, “I’m not saying I’m going to quit, I’m not damning DC.” As a filmmaker leading a motion picture label, Gunn is an anomaly among studio bosses in town.
“We’re very deliberate in our output,” Safran said. “We’re not looking to make five movies a year and five series.

At the end of January 2023, DC Studios gathered select members of the press and announced plans for a Dcu slate dubbed "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters." Many fans pointed out the similarities to Warner Bros.'s ill-fated 11-movie Dceu slate reveal in 2014 and, unfortunately, some of these Dcu projects aren't moving along as well as hoped.
Talking to press, co-ceo Peter Safran said of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker spin-off Waller, "We’ve taken a couple of cracks at it but still haven’t been able land. Waller has been a bumpy road."
The Authority, meanwhile, is "not the furthest along" according to James Gunn and, subsequently, "hasn't been made much [of] a priority." Safran explained, "It is a very big movie, if you’re going to do it properly. Some of the story elements perhaps that are in Superman and some of the other films we fast-tracked, step a little on the Authority.

James Gunn is known for directing ensemble pieces in the realm of comic book movies, having helmed the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy and 2021's "The Suicide Squad." So, given that he's taking on this summer's "Superman" for Warner Bros., it's reasonable to wonder if Gunn is going to take a similar approach to the Man of Steel. Whether you were hoping for a hero-filled story or worried the focus was going to be pulled away from Supes, however, Gunn has made it clear: his latest is not a team adventure.
/Film's Bill Bria recently attended a special press event featuring Gunn and Peter Safran, who're serving as the co-heads of DC Studios at Warner Bros. That also means they've been tasked with launching the new DC Universe, a franchise that technically began with the release of the animated "Creature Commandos" series on Max but will kick off in earnest with "Superman" in July.

It's been just over two years since James Gunn, director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, and producer Peter Safran took over as the heads of DC Studios. Tasked by Warner Bros. with rebooting the DC Universe under one unified umbrella, things are finally coming together, with Gunn's "Superman" set to hit theaters this summer. As the property enters full steam ahead mode, Gunn and Safran have reflected on what went wrong with the universe they inherited.
During a special press event attended by /Film's Bill Bria, Gunn and Safran addressed many questions about the new DC Universe. It's the picture that launched a thousand rumors and frenzied meltdowns among fans. Recently, the very socially active James Gunn tweeted out a picture that promptly sent the comic book fanbase into a tailspin. Although a longtime friend and creative collaborator of Zack Snyder, the filmmaker who was last given the reins to the DC empire and famously parted ways with the franchise following the release of "Justice League" in 2017, Gunn's status as the new co-ceo of DC Studios (alongside Peter Safran) has sparked a rivalry of sorts between the two. Never mind that they actually worked together to help bring Snyder's "Dawn of the Dead" remake to life back in 2004 and, by all accounts, get along swimmingly. A combination of the very different storytelling approaches between the two directors, Gunn's crossover into the DC world with 2021's "The Suicide Squad," and that Marvel/DC rivalry stemming from...

In the months leading up to The Suicide Squad’s premiere in 2021, no one was expecting Peacemaker to become the most popular new character from the movie, but thanks to John Cena’s stoic yet charming performance, the anti-hero has catapulted to new levels of stardom. Peacemaker was such a hit in the 2021 superhero flick he earned his own James Gunn-created Max series, which is set to air Season 2 sometime this year. Another surprise to come from the Peacemaker saga was the introduction theme song in Season 1, “Do Ya Wanna Taste It,” which climbed to the top of the rock n' roll charts quickly after the Season 1 premiere. Collider’s Steve Weintraub recently attended a press event at Warner Bros., and he asked Gunn about the new theme song in Season 2, as well as when fans can expect to first hear it:...

DC Studios co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran emphasized that the release date for Season 2 of the hit Max series Peacemaker is still on track for August.
Meanwhile the other Suicide Squad spinoff series, Waller, starring Oscar winner Viola Davis as the amoral U.S. government espionage director who dispatches the criminal misfit Suicide Squad team on missions, remains in the works. However, it’s been a hard road for the show.
Safran explained, “We’ve taken a couple of cracks at Waller and we haven’t been able to land it.”
“We’re still working on it,” said Gunn.
“Waller has been tough, the strike was tough on Waller, there was a certain amount time that we needed to do Peacemaker first,” he continued.

It sounds like we're going to be seeing a lot of Rick Flag Sr. in the Dcu over the next few years.
Frank Grillo voiced the character in the recent Creature Commandos animated series, and will make his live-action debut in James Gunn's Superman before returning for the second season of Peacemaker. Now, Mttsh is reporting that Flag will also be a part of the upcoming Waller series.
This wouldn't really be much of a surprise given Flag's close association with Waller, but it does obviously suggest that he will survive the events of Peacemaker season 2 and his run-in with John Cena's Christopher Smith.
Though the project was impacted by the Hollywood strikes, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn recently confirmed that Waller is still moving forward, with Viola Davis set to reprise her role as the Dcu's ruthless A.R.G.U.S. chief.

Superman is the movie that officially kicks off the Dcu after last year's Creature Commandos gave us a taste of what's to come on Max. While the likes of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Lanterns are already in production, make no mistake about it: DC Studios' future hinges on Superman's success.
Still, the response to the first trailer was overwhelmingly positive and all signs point to filmmaker James Gunn delivering the uplifting, hopeful take on the Man of Steel fans have been desperate to see in theaters again.
Gunn, who also runs DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, is no stranger to comic book movies. While the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy had a lot of heart, it was largely comedic, as were the likes of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.
That's led to concerns Superman will also be a "comedy." Talking during a recent episode of The Town, Hollywood insider Matthew Belloni shared,...

Though the project was impacted by the Hollywood strikes, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn recently confirmed that Waller is still moving forward, with Viola Davis set to reprise her role as the Dcu's ruthless A.R.G.U.S. chief.
Davis debuted as "The Wall" in David Ayer's Suicide Squad before making appearances in Gunn's "requel" The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker show. She also provided the voice of the character in the recent Creature Commandos animated series, and will return in the second season of Peacemaker.
"A live action series, the spinoff of Peacemaker, centered around Amanda Waller and her relationship with her daughter, Leota. If there's one government bureaucrat who shouldn't be messed with, it’s Amanda Waller, founder of the infamous Task Force X, better known as the Suicide Squad," reads Waller's logline.
Official updates have been sparse since Gunn assured fans that the show was still on track late last year,...

The Rookie star Eric Winter continues to charm fans with his portrayal of Sgt. Tim Bradford. While the show in itself has gained a huge fan following since it began airing in 2018, Winter’s appeal can be credited for a large portion of that.

Bradford’s chemistry with the other characters on the show, be it with his love interest Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil), or friend and colleague Angela Lopez (Alyssa Diaz) has been one of the most entertaining aspects of the show.
However, his dynamic with Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan is one for the books. Interestingly, much like Fillion, Winter, too has similar Hollywood dreams that he would like to fulfill in his career. Although he has spoken of it in interviews before, for now, they seem quite far-reaching.
