Trivia

When Eugene (Josh McDermitt) confronts Dwight (Austin Amelio), he states to Dwight "It doesn't require a Turing-grade decryption to grok the truth that you're the traitor.". The word "Grok" was coined by Sci-Fi writer Robert A. Heinlein who used the word in his best selling book "Stranger in a Strange Land", it was about an earthling raised on Mars by Martians, who taught him to "Grok" which means he could use 100% of his brain to create or alter reality and read people's thoughts if he so desired. Once back on earth he told people that he "groked" the truth from their minds. This meant that no one needed to read anyone's mind as Eugene figured out just by the items that Dwight was the traitor in the Saviors Camp. See more »

What to Say about An Episode Where the Despicable Eugene Is the Lead Character?
4 December 2017 | by claudio_carvalhoSee all my reviews

"Time for After" is another forgettable episode of "The Walking Dead". There are three simultaneous story lines, each one worse than the other. Out of the blue, the coward Eugene becomes a genius and the second in command of Negan. The episode spends most of the time with this nasty and expendable character that should have died instead of Glenn. Eugene threatens Dwight and when he has the chance to shot or push Eugene off the roof, he leaves the guy (meaning a threat to his life) alive. The second segment is absurd and nonsense, with Rick somehow subduing the Garbage People with tied hands and becoming allied of this treacherous people. And the third segment with Daryl, Tara, Rosita, Michonne and Morgan is senseless with Rosita and Michonne surprisingly leaving their friends near the Sanctuary with an unreasonable explanation. The background is The Saviors under siege of a herd of walkers apparently defeated and somehow Eugene saving them without any clear explanation. The walkers blocked by a pile of dead bodies near the stairway to the second floor is ridiculous. What else to say about an episode where the despicable Eugene is the lead character? My vote is three.
