The painting technique depicted in this film is inaccurate. The approach the painters used in dial factories was "lip, dip, paint." The technique depicted shows the workers licking the paintbrush after having dipped their paintbrush. This technique would be ineffective, since the paint is essentially being licked off before the application. See more
