Finally... a proper indie film!
4 November 2018 | by Jcollins13579See all my reviews

I went to see Matriarch yesterday after reading about it in the papers. Bored by the plethora of fake 'indie films' I was interested to see what these guys produced with a micro budget and no studio backing. I was not left disappointed. This is an outstanding film that can rival ANY big-budget Hollywood movie. The acting throughout is fantastic but both femal leads are world-class. The scenery is breath-taking and the story took me on a journey I was not quite prepared for and really moved me. It was a film with many layers and illicited numerous emotions from viewers. I was not expecting the comic moments which created light relief in a tragic and harrowing set of circumstances. I look forward to seeing what Matriarch does for Indie Film. I hope Scott Vickers is recognised for his writing and directorial capabilities. I think he is one to watch! Well done Matriarch team.
