Needless to say that when I was given the chance in 2020 to sit down and watch the 2016 movie "Kidnap Ding Ding Don" (aka "Bong Gaa Ding Ding Don") of course I did so immediately. Why? Well, because I am a huge fan of Hong Kong cinema.
I had never heard about this movie prior to getting to pick it up and watch it. So I didn't know what to expect from the movie.
And now that I have seen it, I must say that I was entertained. This movie is enjoyable and it is very much in the spirit of Hong Kong movies - generally speaking - in terms of the movies I watched growing up.
The acting in the movie was good, and Ivana Wong really carries the movie quite well together with her co-star.
There is a good amount of laughs and moments that will make you feel good throughout the course of the movie, along with a handful of action, comedy, romance and what have you not.
The storyline is good, and have lots of various elements to it, spanning from action to comedy, romance to drama, so there should be something for everyone in the audience to be enjoyed here.
If you enjoy Hong Kong movies, then "Kidnap Ding Ding Don" is definitely a movie that is well worth sitting down to watch. I am rating it a six out of ten stars.
