Trivia

When Jay (Ed O'Neill) goes into the back yard and sees another man teaching his son Joe how to throw a baseball, he says, "What's going on? I feel like I've died and I'm watching my family as a ghost". In a two-part segment (Married with Children: It's a Bundyful Life Part 2 (1989)) of O'Neill's previous series, Married with Children (1986), his character Al Bundy is electrocuted by faulty Christmas lighting and his guardian angel lets him see what life would be like for his family without him. Peyton Manning's retirement plan as a baseball coach leads to more great comedy for Modern Family
14 February 2017 | by Ed-ShullivanSee all my reviews

I think a lot of people including myself were wondering what Peyton Manning intended to do after winning the February 2016 SuperBowl over the Carolina Panthers and announcing his retirement from pro football in the NFL. Besides waiting to go into the NFL Hall of Fame on the first ballot and also starring in a string of successful television commercials this past year, SNL host, Peyton can now add a cameo appearance as Coach Gary in Season 8 episode 13 of Modern family on to his acting resume.

The comedy never seems to deteriorate on this comedy themed television series and with cameos on past episodes such as stars like Chazz Palminteri, Jennifer Tilly, Steve Zahn, Elizabeth Banks, Benjamin Bratt, Kevin Hart, Will Sasso, Nathan Lane, and now football great Peyton Manning this show will remain wowing appreciative audiences for at least another year or two.
