Wonderful film!

The Tree is a beautiful story about aging, relationships, and the power of human connection. All of the actors are spectacular, especially the lead, Joicie Appell! The cinematography is beautiful and the score for the film fits it perfectly. Treat yourself and see the wonderful film!

A real movie.

This is a story about a woman going on a journey back home late in her life to visit an old friend. The characters are those I can relate to in my life. The Tree gives you a taste of real people in a real town that feels like home. I want to watch this again with my grandmother and share it with friends and family.

Cute little flick

An elderly lady (88 years old) goes alone on a road trip from Kansas to Indiana do to a recurring dream she has about a childhood friend. If the viewer can't see what she's doing within the first 10 minutes of the story you aren't paying attention.

She dishes out her life wisdom to the people she meets while traveling who all seem amazed by her words. In one scene she takes on the biblical role of 'the good samaritan'.

She eventually reaches her destination after putting her family and caring neighbor through hell because she hasn't bothered to learn how to use her cell phone. As stated it's a cute little movie that is sure to be shown in many a sunday school class.

Excellent handling of a powerful subject!

I was warned the pace of this movie was slow, but I found it to be perfect for the subject matter. While some bits were formulaic, the film's authenticity towards its subject matter (the consequences of getting old, elderly independence, following a dream, taking responsibility for oneself, giving others room for themselves) was VERY well done. The direction, the sets and the actors all presented an accurate picture of the experiences and emotions for that time and place. Kudos to all involved.

Sad movie about loss over a lifetime

An 88 yr old woman on many medications makes a decision of possible terminal consequence after being encouraged to move to a nursing facility by an fairly abrasive and ageist doctor.
