Sex & Nudity

  • This scene is about 1 - 2 minutes. A man performs a martial arts routine in the nude before lying on a bed and kissing a woman's hand. Full frontal nudity including his penis clearly seen for about a minute before he lies on the bed, although there is a brief moment afterwards when pubic hair can be seen.
  • A man grabs a woman by her waist, she is shocked and pushes him away, then denies his advances telling him that he is drunk.
  • Two boys look at pornographic magazine very briefly, but not at all explicit and even that remains in the background while a main character appears rushing out of the cinema.
  • Discussions of sex, pregnancy, and infidelity
  • Some kissing.
  • In the theater the two servants are each with her boyfriend kissing very passionately while watching a movie.
  • A woman takes a shower. Most of what is seen doesn't go beyond the shoulders and up, but some brief glimpses of her breasts and nipples can be seen.

Violence & Gore

  • A man threatens to hurt a woman with his martial arts skills. Throughout the film, violence is exerted from man to woman. Physical but above all racial and psychological against women in general, situations common in the seventies as well.
  • A forest fire starts and a group of people attempt to put it out.
  • A riot breaks out while a protest organized by student. Some people are shot and beaten by others. We see a few dead bodies and a few leading with bleeding injuries. Nothing graphic is shown.

Profanity

  • 2 uses of the f-word, other mild language
  • 4 uses of the f-word in a row, said in one scene.
  • 1 use of a-hole
  • Not much swearing at all

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The Family Father and most adult characters are smokers, and different types of alcoholic beverages are drunk throughout the film. A pregnant woman is convinced to drink a new year's toast

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many scenes in this film are emotionally intense and disturbing, and generally chaotic.
  • You hear discussions of adults, there are scenes of great intensity such as an accident inside a hospital, wounded, a murder in one shot and several in general, shooting, surreal hunting scenes and other scenes of strong visual content, script or action of the context.
  • Characters walk into a room where all the dogs from the household that died have their heads mounted in memorium. The scene is played for laughs but some dog lovers still might find it upsetting.

Violence & Gore

  • A street full of protestors are assaulted by an army of men with kendo sticks and guns (Corpus Christi Massacre, 1971), bodies can be seen strewn in the road. Some of the men enter a building to kill an escaping protestor, he is shot in the chest and a bloodstain forms. The protagonist is threatened with a gun.
  • A woman's baby is born stillborn, the baby's body covered in gore can be seen as doctors extract it and attempt to resuscitate it in an extended scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is an extended scene of medical intervention at a hospital on a woman with a problematic pregnancy. The baby is stillborn, and cannot be saved despite multiple attempts to resuscitate it. We see the mother holding her dead baby's body.
  • The scene where the protagonist goes into the ocean to save the kids is stressful as the audience knows she doesn't know how to swim
  • Contains an intense scene of near drowning of children.
