Sex & Nudity

  • Two brief kisses.
  • Frequent mild cleavage and bare midriffs and abdomens.

Violence & Gore

  • In the beginning, the Cave of Wonders collapses as a man enters it, seemingly killing him.
  • Jaffar pushes a man down a dark well and we hear his scream fade out as (we assume) he falls to his death (nothing else is shown, no sound of impact or anything.)
  • A magic flying carpet is accidentally torn but gets repaired later


Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The genie is seen holding what looks like a martini a couple times throughout the movie.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The genie may initially seem threatening but is soon revealed to be benevolent.
  • There is some threat.
  • The Cave seems scary at times and has a threatening voice and appeal that may scare young kids
  • The last 20-30 minutes are more intense than the original since this is live action. It can be a little frightening for younger viewers. Jafar's transformation is fairly intense.

  • Jafar becomes a powerful sorcerer. He banishes all the guards to the dungeon, off-screen, and magically 'freezes' the Sultan, which appears painful.
  • Jafar knocks a man into a well.
  • Jafar kicks Aladdin off a ledge.
  • Iago is briefly transformed into a much larger, more vicious version of himself as he chases our heroes.
  • The cave of wonders breaks down and fills with lava as Aladdin and Abu ride the carpet in an attempt to escape.
  • Jafar is turned into a hulking red genie, but is trapped in a lamp before he can do any real harm.
  • Jafar holds Jasmine and the Sultan in some sort of 'stasis lock'.
  • Aladdin is banished to a frozen wasteland. He falls down a cliff after rescuing Abu. Though he appears very cold, he is saved by the magic carpet before he can suffer any long lasting affects.
  • The Sultan seems to be choking or unable to breath, and is held this way for nearly a minute. The same is done to Dalia and Aladdin, but for a lesser amount of time.
  • Jafar turns his parrot into a massive bird that chases Aladdin, jasmine and Abu which may be frightening for some young children.
