Did You Know?

Gene Siskel still had the cold from the "Lost in Yonkers/Carnosaur/American Heart/Posse/The Story of Qiu Ju" episode, so once again, he had a scratchy and hoarse voice. See more »

Gene Siskel - Host: "Cliffhanger" has all of the impact of one of those car commercials where they stick the automobile on top of a peak, leaving you to wonder it got there and how it's gonna be brought down. Siskel & Ebert (1993)

Season 7, Episode 37

MADE IN AMERICA, MENACE II SOCIETY, CLIFFHANGER, HOT SHOTS! PART DEUX and THE LONG DAY CLOSES are the five films that are discussed this week and it should be noted that Siskel is suffering from a sour throat, which might be why there are some good fights here. Siskel hated both MADE IN AMERICA and CLIFFHANGER so this sets up some very good fights including the stuff dealing with the stallone picture. There's some really funny arguments here and they certainly make you want to check the films out so that you can be a tie-breaker. With that said, c'mon, how do you not like CLIFFHANGER? There are good moments throughout the episode including the Video Pick of the Week for A LETTER TO THREE WIVES.
