Hera's Heroes
18 December 2019 | by lassegalsgaardSee all my reviews

This felt like a rather personal episode. Another episode that was simply there to give more development to one of the main characters. Luckily, this episode had a lot of heart, and it also did give some set up to the overall narrative as Grand Admiral Thrawn finally stepped back into the big picture. I found him to be more menacing in this episode than his introduction; this was the first time I felt that Timothy Zahn version of the character that I have always loved, and I like the fact that he judges the situation and decides on whether or not to attack based on the circumstances. I also liked Cham Syndulla a lot more this time. He has a selfless persona to him, and even though he isn't in the episode for a whole lot, he had a good arc in it as well. The usual criticism unfortunately also goes for this episode. It didn't further the overall plot that much, and it felt kinda lazy at times. The main hook of the episode didn't mean anything to me, mostly because I didn't fully get the Ryloth culture. However, it was an enjoyable episode that gave development to one of our heroes, as well as the big antagonist of this season.
