The second film for both lead actors for the year 2016. Karthi's earlier film was Oopiri (2016) while Dhanush's was Thodari (2016). 4. The third film for both directors. 5. The music for both films were composed by the same composer, Santhosh Narayanan.

In Singapore, the theatrical release was edited in order to reduce stronger moments of violence and injuries to lower the film's overall classification from NC16 to PG13.
