The "Star Wars" Prequels Trilogy is the most debated chapter in cinema's greatest franchise. But what if moviegoers were only examining the films from a certain point of view? Filled with commentary from passionate fans and scholars of cinema, "The Prequels Strike Back" follows the travels of a bewildered fan as he attempts to unlock the method behind cinema's most controversial trilogy and George Lucas, the even more controversial man behind them. He must unlearn what he has learned and look at the polarizing saga like never before.
Not sure a set of good movies need a doc to defend them but this film is very good. Exploring multiple angles on the arguments (including unfair trivial pt jabs that can equally be directed at the ot) it covers lots of ground. As a fan of the 6 original Lucas star wars films I'm already aware of all the themes and meanings presented in the prequel trilogy but here they are presented with great clarity additionally exploring the fascinating ring theory and Lucas's artistic influences. Bottom line, Lucas is a genius, everyone should know that. Again no one should have to create a doc to defend a set of films that someone has put their heart and soul into but in this rapid internet age certain people could do with being re educated and take a look at this film. And Yoda said it best "you must unlearn what you have learned" Great job to the people involved in making this! Would love an extended version!
