- When Ariel becomes human, she is transformed and has legs. She is naked, but no nudity is shown and covered up with a towel.
- Eric is seen with a ripped shirt which shows off his bare chest and nipples.
- Kissing scene between Ariel and Eric.
Violence & Gore

- Scuttle and Sebastian attack Vanessa aggressively right before her and Ariel physically fight.
- Lots of dead, creepy mermaids and other dead things and Skeletons are seen entering Ursula's area
- During the ship wreck, Eric almost drowns and Ariel saves him. He is then seen unconscious on the ground but is slightly, slowly regaining consciousness. It's implied that everyone on the ship is okay, including the dog, but during the scene you can occasionally seen people flying off the boat and we never see them again.

- Vanessa is very intense and scary. She even fights Ariel briefly at one point and pins her down.
- Ursula can be unsettling and creepy.
- Flotsam and jetsam are creepy eels
- Ursula is kind of harassing Ariel for her voice. Very creepy and unsettling lead up.
- Ariel and Triton fight a lot and have a bad relationship
- Ursula has a creepy laugh that is heard throughout the movie
- Ursula's area is creepy. It's deep underwater, and when you enter a bunch of dead mermaids are seen. Theres also creepy animals at the entrance with 1 eye.
- When Triton gets mad he destroys everything of Ariel's.
- A shark attacks Ariel in the beginning while she explores a shipwreck. She gets away, but it's scary.

- Ursula is impaled briefly at the end by a ship.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- A storm and shipwreck scene.
- The fight scene towards the end is between Ursula, Ariel, and Eric. Once Ursula takes the trident, she rises in size to the surface and creates a massive whirlpool. Ariel and Eric are caught in it multiple times as she taunts them, and then brings up the shipwrecks from the bottom of the ocean.
