Storyline

Nearly a decade after occupation by an extraterrestrial force, the lives of a Chicago neighborhood on both sides of the conflict are explored. In a working-class Chicago neighborhood occupied by an alien force for nine years, increased surveillance and the restriction of civil rights have given rise to an authoritarian system - and dissent among the populace.

Finally an alien film with some substance!

Not sure why this movie got so much hate. I'm very picky when it comes to movies, but I thought captive state was great. Maybe people didn't like it because it wasn't your typical "Alien movie" like war of the worlds for example, it had more substance to it. So i would definitely recommend it to any sci fi fans out there.
