Trivia

Elya Baskin (Alexander Orlov) previously played Yuri Demetri in MacGyver: A Prisoner of Conscience (1986) and MacGyver: Soft Touch (1987). He, Bruce McGill (the original Jack Dalton), and Michael Des Barres (the original Murdoc) are the only actors to appear in both MacGyver (1985) and MacGyver (2016). See more »

Goofs

When they are watching the video of Agent Bannister's death, MacGyver's arms vary position between shots. In the long shots they are by his sides but in the close-ups they are folded in front of him. See more »

Quotes

Angus MacGyver: The power cord on the door was a nice move, and I truly respect anybody who can try and hot-wire a car with a steak knife, but I need to talk to you.
Alexander Orlov: Stay away from me, you KGB bastard!
Angus MacGyver: KGB? The KGB was disbanded before I was even born!

Better..
16 October 2016 | by gijoe50000See all my reviews

So this is maybe the best episode so far, but it still has a way to go before it will be watchable for fans of the original series (in my opinion). They seem to have ditched the 'subtitles' that appear whenever Mac starts to build anything (thank god), there's less of the 24 style multi-picture going on (again, thank god), and the acting is less over the top (a third thank god). The overacting from Jack in particular, in the first few episodes had me cringing. This episode seems to be put together a bit better than the first few episodes, which looked choppy, rushed, and all over the place. There still needs to be more solo time for Macgyver, and less of the team stuck to him like glue all the time.
