Not everything is accurate

Nice episode... Until they come to the part of the Dutch origins of St Nicolaus. Once again the misinformation is being presented that in the Netherlands "christmas is celebrated with a white Santa Claus accompanied with black slaves". The ONLY implication that the Black Pete was a slave comes from only one source, and that states that the slaves were (bought) free by Nicolaus, and they decided to stay with him. Last couple of years people in the Netherlands are claiming this feast is to propagandize slavery and everybody celebrating st Nicolaus is a racist. Unfortunately this sentiment is blindly believed by American media.
