Storyline

Arle and Amitie fall into Ringo's world, and the girls meet up with Ringo. Ringo assumes that by clearing Puyos, Arle and Amitie have ended up in Ringo's world, and suddenly, Tetriminoes start crashing down the place. The three are confused as to why the blocks disappear when placed in a horizontal line. Soon after, the trio are transported to a ship called the Tet-Ship, where T and O engage in a Puyo Tetris battle with Ringo and Amitie, with Ringo and Amitie using Puyo Puyo and T and O using Tetris. Arle was trapped in a room with Z, and after rescuing Arle, the ship began to malfunction, forcing T to make an emergency landing on the Blue Planet. The Tet-Ship crew was separated shortly after, and it turns out the Blue Planet was Earth, and the Tet-Ship crash landed onto Ringo's place. The Tet-Ship needed repairs but first the group had to locate the missing crew. The crew was eventually located, and I and Risukuma began repairs on the ship, but only with short differences. Then three... Written by Anonymous

Quotes

[first lines]
Ringo Andou: It's such a peaceful day! So peaceful and quiet! Nothing ever goes wrong on a peaceful day! Hmm... Actually... Come think of it, as great as peace is, it's actually kinda boring. It'd be more fun if something excited happened. Like if all my friends just came bursting out of the sky! Ha! But that's nonsense. Something like that would NEVER happen on such a peaceful day, right? Huh? OH MY! What's happening? I think something's bursting outta the sky!
Amitie: That hurt... But hey, I'm in one...

An overall great package for 30$
16 July 2018 | by OlicosmicSee all my reviews

I wasn't expecting much from this game whatsoever, as I thought it was going to be just some average puzzle game. But, to my pleasant surprise, this game has a surprising amount of depth. As a young man who loves Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine, as well as Tetris, I can safely say that this game is the best of both worlds and then some. The gameplay is extremely fun and addictive and the vasts amount of modes between both of them, whether it be swap, fusion, big bang, etc., all make this game have a surprising amount of variety, which is awesome. The music in this game is pretty great as well. Nothing ground breaking, but I found myself enjoying the music for the most part. There's also a single player adventure mode, which works surprisingly well, as it's long and has a good difficulty arch. However, the story is somewhat silly and uninspired, and the premise can come off as absolutely ridiculous. Some things are straight up weird, and while I don't mind weird stuff, the writing can really make one say "Uhh, wtf?". This next thing is more subjective, but I thought the voices, for the most part were extremely annoying, and this is mostly due to how high pitched everyone is. Some players of this game may not mind, but I often turn the volume down a little bit so that my ears don't bleed. The voices aren't necessarily bad, but I feel like it would've been better if everyone talked at a reasonable pitch. Overall, while the adventure mode is surprisingly decent, it's definitely not perfect. But, the way it incorporates both Tetris and Puyo Puyo is clever, so I have to give credit where credit is due. And, for the price of this game, it's hard to complain for having as long of an adventure mode as this one. The only other issue I have is that a few of the options are a bit lacking. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of things to tinker with in the options, but some of them are a bit guess based. One example is me choosing a character. Now, this may not be an issue for those who played the Puyo Puyo series, but for those who are new, like me, the fact that that option only shows the names and not what the voices and/or appearances are can be very annoying, because that means the player has to go back to the character select screen to even know who is who. Same goes for customizing Tetriminos and Puyos, as it does not show you what they look like, meaning you'll have to play a game of Puyo Puyo and Tetris to know which theme is which. All of this can be extremely annoying when you just want to know what they look like. A simple preview button would have been nice. Despite the flaws of this game, it is still one of the most surprising games I've ever played, as I wasn't expecting much, but what I got is a full fledged game that is way more in depth than I ever thought it would be. Overall, it's a great game. I recommend anyone who loves Tetris and/or Puyo Puyo and/or any puzzle games for that matter to check this game out, as it is one of the most in depth and addictive puzzle games out there. And if you're someone that can withstand the high pitched voices and strange story premise in adventure mode, this game is an absolute no-brainer. This game is way better than I thought it would be, as it is, despite its (mostly) minor shortcomings, an overall great package for 30$.
