The final scene is a clearly homage to Mark Hamill's iconic character Luke Skywalker. Manuel Valentín-Fdez. insisted on representing that scene honoring Hamill and in order to create that kind of cliffhanger like Hamill's character did. This scene was planned since the first steps of development of the film, months before the beginning of its shooting. Manuel Valentín-Fdez. always knew that he couldn't appear in the film because of this final scene, but he thought it would be positive for his character and for the development of the other important characters.
