Storyline
Plot Summary |
The film follows Jay, a headstrong 13-year-old girl, and her two best friends, Ro and Nat. After Jay overhears a conversation between two physically developed classmates, she convinces herself that if she sees a naked man, she will become a "woman." She forces Ro and Nat to skip class and go to her house, so she can show them a Playgirl magazine. She declares that they each take a turn in her closet with the magazine, to magically kickstart the womanhood process. The film follows the girls as they discuss whether they should look at the magazine, and as they uncover the real reason Jay creates the womanhood ceremony. "Love Stinks" is a comedy, and deals with themes of unrequited love, growing up, self-discovery, and the importance of friendship. |
