Storyline

The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City--a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world--they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.

At the start of the movie, when we see Tim trying to catch the Cubone, he doesn't understand that the Pokemon is about to escape the ball, catching him off guard. But he really shouldn't have been surprised, since he once was a Pokemon Trainer, which was later revealed when we were shown to his room. See more »

Detective Pikachu, I Was Really Disappointed ( Score 5.9/10 ⭐ )
11 May 2019 | by ymyusedaSee all my reviews

First of all, i was pretty excited to watch this movie. After i watched the movie, i'm so disappointed. I don't understand the hype that this movie has been receiving and i surely don't understand the reviews praising it. Good effect but very lousy story. Nevertheless, they were still entertaining. Go watch it, if you're a hardcore fan of pokemon. Pikaa Pikaaa !!!
