The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City--a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world--they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.
The realistic style of the Pokémon were based on the artwork by RJ Palmer. The movie's production designer discovered him while he was looking for realistic Pokémon designs on the internet, and he was so impressed by Palmer's artwork that he gave him a job as the concept artist for the movie. In one scene, Tim mentions something about "Greninjas being set free." The plural form of a Pokemon is the same as the singular form, so he should have seen the "Greninja were being set free." Other characters in the movie get this right. See more »
Down by the docks. Rough part of town, not the sorta place you wanna visit alone at night.
[trying to impress her]
Well, I'm actually pretty good at being alone at night.

Detective Pikachu, I Was Really Disappointed ( Score 5.9/10 ⭐ )
First of all, i was pretty excited to watch this movie. After i watched the movie, i'm so disappointed. I don't understand the hype that this movie has been receiving and i surely don't understand the reviews praising it. Good effect but very lousy story. Nevertheless, they were still entertaining. Go watch it, if you're a hardcore fan of pokemon. Pikaa Pikaaa !!!
