Leading up to the accident it's revealed that Amberley is traveling to the "National Western" to work in a booth. The way the characters are dressed, the conversation about JC's recent baseball game, and the fact that Cory is on a trip with the team he manages all suggest that she is taking the trip in the spring; however, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo is held in January.
