The cinematography varies throughout the film but remains to be consistent to the overall experience of the film. Asides from the film, music is both personal and raw as he experiments with different genres of music such as R&B, pop,rap and dance. Despite the wildly different genres of music JusTin Timberlake plays with, much like the cinematography, it all mends together well to produce the over arching story that he intends the viewers to experience.

Poor man's Happy pretty much

Warning: Spoilers
Here we have the music video for the song "Can't Stop the Feeling" by artist Justin Timberlake and as this is closely related to the recent movie Trolls, it managed to score an Oscar nomination, the first for Timberlake who also was a voice actor in said film. But we will stick to the song and music video for now. It's mildly catchy admittedly, but nothing special at all and there is also zero depth in it. It basically a feel-good song that is as a whole pretty mediocre and forgettable, so I definitely do not agree with the awards attention it received. I am kinda undecided on Timberlake as he has done some stuff I liked and some that I did not like at all. I guess this one here rather falls under the latter category. The music video is also really simple, just like the song and as I wrote in the title of my review this really did remind me of a very poor man's version of Pharrell's "Happy" and not just because that one was nominated for an Oscar too and it even comes from another animated movie. The spirit is just the same. But it's really like the Bye Bye Birdie scene from Mad Men. One is the original, the other merely a copy. Anyway, I quite enjoyed the Trolls movie, so it's good the song is getting an Oscar nomination and attention for the film. But as a standalone work, these under 5 minutes here are not a creative achievement at all. I also found it a bit cringeworthy how Timberlake included himself "humbly" near the end with the other dancers. I may have given it a better rating if they had just shown scenes from Trolls from start to finish. Don't watch. On a personal note I am a bit disappointed to see director Mark Romanek attached to this project as I believe he has some amazing films in his body of work that are really deep and meaningful in terms of describing the human soul, but this here is the exact opposite, really nothing but pointless pop music.
