Unoriginal but nevertheless enjoyable

As the opening show of the Dimension 404 series this had a lot of weight on its shoulders; people would be assessing whether to continue to watch the series or not on the evidence of this episode. On the whole it served its purpose well.

Adam is a young guy seeking his ideal mate. His roommate recommends a dating agency called Matchmakers and Adam is persuaded to go on a date when the agency finds a perfect match for him. Both he and his date hit it off and after a couple of months Adam is so convinced that she is his soulmate that, against the advice of his roomie, he decides to tell her he loves her.

Let's just say it's not the wisest decision he ever made and the consequences of his declaration of love prove shockingly life-changing in ways he could never have imagined.

As I said I found the show very watchable and I shall certainly continue to watch the series. I have to say though that if the makers are not paying royalties to Charlie Brooker and Black Mirror then they should be. This isn't up to the standard of its great original but it's definitely worth a watch.
