Jackée Harry, Alexandra Breckenridge & Robert Buckley To Topline ‘Love In Store’ Hallmark Movie
Exclusive: Emmy winner Jackée Harry (227), Alexandra Breckenridge (This Is Us) and Robert Buckley (iZombie) are set to star in Love In Store, a new original movie set for premiere in September on the Hallmark Channel.

In the movie, Breckenridge and Buckley play shopping network hosts Terrie and David, who have different selling styles that draw large audiences, but off-camera their personalities clash. Each hopes to replace Sharyn (Harry), the network star, when she retires, but first they’ll have to get along as co-hosts because Sharyn needs them to team up when a co-worker goes into labor. Selling a high-tech umbrella, the two are in the middle of their presentation when Terrie turns on her phone to demonstrate the umbrella’s tracking device and sees a text from her boyfriend breaking up with her. Suddenly speechless, she breaks the cardinal rule of live television, “No Dead Air,” and although David steps in to help,

8 ways The Twilight Zone influenced modern TV and film

Louisa Mellor Nov 25, 2017

The Twilight Zone casts a long shadow over today’s film and TV. We salute the legacy left by Rod Serling’s seminal series…

“Damn near immortal” is how Stephen King described The Twilight Zone in his 1981 study of creepy fiction Danse Macabre, and who could argue with that. Like any decent horror monster, Rod Serling’s 1960s anthology series keeps coming back from the grave. Only last week it was announced that CBS is planning to resurrect its award-winning show once again. The new series will be the latest of several revivals over the decades, including an upcoming stage production set to enjoy its world premiere at London’s Almeida Theatre this December.

Q&A: Composer Cris Velasco on Resident Evil 7, Dimension 404, and Working with Clive Barker

For our latest Q&A feature, we caught up with composer Cris Velasco to discuss his work on Resident Evil 7, Hulu's Freakish, and RocketJump's Dimension 404, as well as collaborating with Clive Barker on some of the great imaginer's projects.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Cris. Were you a fan of the horror genre growing up? Did the genre influence your music?

Cris Velasco: Oh yeah, absolutely. I used to watch Hellraiser 1 and 2 with a friend of mine almost every weekend. Chris Young's score became a significant influence on my own music early on.

You’ve worked on a wide range of video games over the years. How did you first get involved with that industry?

Cris Velasco: Hard work and tenacity are the keys. I spent about seven years trying to break into the industry after I graduated from UCLA. When

‘Dimension 404’ Showrunner Dez Dolly: With New Hulu Show, RocketJump Looks To “Heighten And Elevate Everything We Do”

On April 4th, Hulu shared the first three episodes of Dimension 404, an anthology created by the team at RocketJump, which includes showrunner Dez Dolly, writer Will Campos, and executive producer Freddie Wong. For its latest project, RocketJump took the combination of action, humor, and nerd cred that led its short films to YouTube fame and applied it to a longer format. Each of Dimension 404’s hour-long episodes is a self-contained story that takes elements of modern pop and tech culture and examines them through a comedic sci-fi lens. It’s Black Mirror, but born from the Internet and given a campier tone.

Early reviews indicate that RocketJump has successfully pulled off the genre-hopping blend that makes up Dimension 404, but we wanted to get some insights about the series straight from its showrunner. Here’s our chat with Dolly about what his team has pulled off in their new Hulu program.

‘The Handmaid’s Tale’: Margaret Atwood Expands Her Legendary Novel for Audible Special Edition

‘Dimension 404’ Composer Cris Velasco on Crafting the Soundtrack for the Sci-Fi Anthology Series

‘Dimension 404’ Composer Cris Velasco on Crafting the Soundtrack for the Sci-Fi Anthology Series
Hulu has thrown its own hat in the anthology-series-ring with its new sci-fi series ‘Dimension 404.” A mashup of sorts between the “Twilight Zone” and “Black Mirror” — with a dash of snark — “Dimension 404” looks to deliver a fun, sci-fi experience and it’s even narrated by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.

Of course, every good onscreen sci-fi story needs a good score to set the tone, and “Dimension 404” has just that thanks to composer Cris Velasco.

“A good friend of mine, Alex Ferrari, has a company called Numb Robot that happened to be doing the color correction on this series. Alex is also a director, and I’ve scored three of his films. He mentioned my name to the producer of “D404″ and said they should look me up if they were still looking for a composer,” he told IndieWire of his initial involvement with the series.

Trippy Sci-Fi And Guest Stars Are On Display In Trailer For RocketJump’s ‘Dimension 404’

12 days ago, we got our first look at Dimension 404, the upcoming sci-fi anthology series created by the team at RocketJump. Now, the full trailer for that show has arrived, and it gives viewers a closer look at the brand of trippy science fiction they can except from the six episodes that (fittingly) will arrive on Hulu on 4/04.

Across its dozens of productions, RocketJump has wowed audiences with a combination of action-packed storylines, dazzling visual effects, and quick wit that fits the absurdist situations on display. In Dimension 404, Freddie Wong’s studio, which here is led by showrunner Dez Dolly, looks as if it will once again put that combination on display. We’re expecting a smart satire of modern, tech-driven culture that will also reference sci-fi staples of years past.

For those who may not be familiar with RocketJump’s work, the presence of high-profile guest stars could

It seems that anthology series are making something of a comeback recently, with FX running multiple season long anthologies from “Fargo” to “American Crime Story” to “Feud” and beyond. Hulu’s new show, however, seems to be following Netflix’s “Black Mirror” (with a dash of “Stranger Things“) with their own sci-fi fantasy anthology series “Dimension 404.” Telling different stories about futuristic technological advances, each episode is a self contained story with Mark Hamill bridging the episodes by serving as the series narrator.
