The London Korean Film Festival 2018 Teaser Screenings present the European Premiere of “Be With You”

The London Korean Film Festival Teaser Screening series returns with the European premiere of fantasy drama “Be With You”, based on Japanese author Takuji Ichikawa’s bestselling novel of the same name. Lee Chang-hoon’s directorial debut takes us on a heart-wrenching journey deep into sunaebo, the type of pure and eternal love lying at the core of countless Korean and Japanese melodramas of the kind; yet is perhaps a concept less familiar to the Western eye.

While Woo-jin (So Ji-sub, Rough Cut) mourns the passing of his beloved wife Soo-a (Son Ye-jin, The Truth Beneath), their young son, seven-year-old Ji-ho, holds unfailingly onto his mother’s vow to return when the next rainy season breaks. South Korean Actor Kim Joo-hyuk Dies in Car Crash
South Korean actor Kim Joo-hyuk, a veteran performer who starred in Hong Sang-soo’s “Yourself and Yours” and “The Truth Beneath”, was killed in a car accident Monday. He was 45.

Local TV broadcaster Jtbc reported that Kim’s car crashed into a wall and flipped over, colliding with another car. When firefighters pulled the actor out of the wreck, he was not breathing.

Two films in which Kim starred have yet to be released. Directed by Cho Geun-hyun, “Heung-bu” is a period drama based on a Korean folktale about two brothers. The film is currently in post-production. Lee Hae-young’s crime action drama “Dok-jeon” is still in production, but Kim is reported to have finished shooting his part of the film. Both films are set for 2018 releases.

Kim was also set to make a cameo appearance in Kim Sung-hun’s “Chang-gweol,” but he had not yet started shooting his part.
