Trivia

When Dirk imagines himself jamming with Todd and Amanda, he is playing a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar that looks very much like the one the 12th Doctor plays for his grand entrance in Doctor Who: The Magician's Apprentice (2015). See more »

Goofs

At about two minutes into the opening scene, where Dorian was vandalizing Todd's car, the left window was seen in the fully closed position (2:05) and then fully open (2:38), then fully closed again (2:46). Also, the rear mirror on the left hand side was seen damaged but not ripped off (2:07). However, it disappeared (2:42) and then reappeared again with the damage (2:46). See more »

Quotes

Bart Curlish: It was good you decided to come with me.
Ken: I didn't decide anything. You said you'd kill me if I didn't go.
Bart Curlish: Well you decided it would be better to come with me than die. That was nice.

Spoilerfree review of the second season of Dirk Gently
16 January 2018 | by angelika-grassSee all my reviews

I am a bit disappointed with this second season. The first was d*mn near perfect for me: witty, funny, cynical, very original and mostly well acted. The first season I would rate 9 stars. But this season ... well. It is not only much darker and moodier, which would be fine by me, it is also less expertly done. Some plot holes are ok of course, considering the absurdity of it all. But some are just lazy. And the acting was also less satisfying than season one - even though some actors are thankfully still brilliant. There are some great additions too. To stay without spoilers I'll say this: I am very glad that Dirk Gently was renewed, and I enjoyed watching the second season for the most part. But it leaves me a bit underwhelmed. I hope they get season three back up to speed. PS: For those who are wondering. There is no real cliffhanger at the end of season two ;)
