Walter Wallace is a dedicated and skilled doctor who was fired by his hospital for using an unsanctioned drug that would lead to his patient's death. He would get an offer to work at a hospital founded by a tech billionaire, James Bell, who wants to create new tech to help people. Wallace is not impressed and wants to turn him down. But some new patients arrive like a woman who is pregnant and has a tumor which if they don';t remove she will die. But it means terminating her pregnancy which she doesn't want to do. And a comatose girl whose parents want them to help her but it's determined her coma is irreversible. But Bell says they will find a way. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

Did You Know?

While Bell is explaining to Dr Wallace about the wall display, saying a patient could "visit" Machu Picchu or be present on the Moon during "Earthrise", in fact, there is no such thing as "Earthrise" on the Moon, as the satellite is tidally locked facing Earth in the same position (except for imperceptible wobbles). A person on the surface of the Moon would only see the Earth occupy the exact same position all the time, day or night. What would be visible is the terminator passing across the face of the Earth, allowing an observer to actually tell what time it was. Since Bell is the titular "Pure Genius", you would think he would know such a thing. See more »

Not just another doctor show
13 January 2017 | by gibsonb74See all my reviews

This is the type of science fiction that I like. A show about science. Specifically this show is about the melding of medical science with information technology. And what I really like is the altruistic attitudes of the characters, not the arrogance of other TV doctors. I love how this show is about helping people. And portrays doctors as just regular human beings just like everyone else. We wish we all had these doctors. It is a feel good, but not sappy show that is sorely needed in these depressing times. This reminds me somewhat of ER, another long running hospital show. They are dedicated and driven people, but not without drama and humor of their own. I hope it sticks around.
