Great enough episode
3 July 2017 | by jamarianaSee all my reviews

Riverdale has its obvious parallels to the hit '90s cult TV show Twin Peaks - the ambiance, the casting of Mädchen Amick, the revelation of nefarious activities performed by unexpected villains, and the general premise of the show: the murder of a popular teenager rocks a small town to its very core. The similarity is especially noticeable in this episode.

Not every episode of the first season of Riverdale is a gem, but this one (as well as the next one, episode 13) was excellent. For a large part of the episode, and obviously those before, the audience is made to wonder who killed Jason Blossom. A wonderfully tense atmosphere is created with accusations flying around back-and-forth. Who did it? The reveal is not entirely idiotic, which is what I would have thought from the first few episodes of the show. The resolution, which stretches over to the next episode, is fitting for the show too. All in all, this was a great episode. One of the best of the show currently.
