Quotes

Mike Neumann: The advice is always in life is follow your heart if you can afford to. Do something which is worthwhile for you, not for others, do it for yourself first, have pleasure in what you're doing and if you stop liking what you're doing, change. There's one life. You're responsible for making it as pleasurable as you can for yourself. That's your responsibility in life, I think.

Honest, beautiful and heartfelt

The art of Documentary film has been diluted of late with the sensational and often propaganda laden (Bigger, Louder, Dumber) model of film making. If you enjoy being spoon fed a one sided story, led precipitously down a jaded, narrow vision of a topic that is clearly nuanced and intricate, then the cable networks are clearly catering to you. If you find the scenario above as repulsive and condescending as I do, you are in luck. The democratization of distribution now allows the films of a more sensible and sensitive lot to break through. Such it is with Of Shark and Man. A true story in every sense of the word, David shares his personal journey in an entertaining and truly informative fashion. His absolute love of the subject (sharks) is evident in the care and effort with which his documentary... actually documents. What a novelty! The film is beautiful both in content and presentation and is truly a labor of love. See this film. See the revitalization of true documentary where you are encouraged to mentally participate and evaluate as well as feel and be entertained. Bravo! Encore...
