Josh and those to who he is close are all adjusting logistically and emotionally with Rose's passing. Despite Josh dealing with his own grief, Mae asks him to speak to his father, who Mae believes is internalizing his own feelings, as she has not seen any outward expressions of grief from him. Although Tom and Ella have now long talked about moving out of the house into their own place, they as individuals are having mixed feelings as Tom seems to be progressing more on the issue now than he had before Rose's death, while Ella does not want to abandon Josh in his own time of grief. The one person who does not seem to be around either to help him grieve or show support in any other way is Claire, which irks Josh as one of his closest friends.
