S. Craig Zahler-Scripted ‘Puppet Master’ Set To Be First Theatrical Release For UK Distribution Label Unannounced

  • Deadline
Exclusive: Unannounced, the fledgling distribution label of former Works UK CEO Laurence Gornall, has picked up UK rights to the S. Craig Zahler-scripted comedy horror Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich.

The reimagining of the 1989 cult film, in which all hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets up for auction at a convention, was written by Zahler (Bone Tomahawk), co-directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund (We Are Monsters), and produced by Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk).

Pic debuted stateside earlier this year at the Overbrook festival and had its UK premiere at Frightfest, which was attended by star Barbara Crampton. Udo Kier, Thomas Lennon, Jenny Pellicer, Nelson Franklin, Charlyne Yi and Michael Pare also star.

Unannounced, which struck the deal with Cinestate, is planning a multiple-city UK theatrical release in Q2, 2019 and will present the film under the Fangoria banner, which was recently acquired by Cinestate’s Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk.

Death House Trailer Unites the Expendables of Horror

Death House Trailer Unites the Expendables of Horror
A new trailer for Death House is here and it looks like a bloody little treat for horror lovers to enjoy in the near future. This movie has been described as "The Expendables of the horror genre" and, based on what we're seeing here, that seems to be a fair assessment. Whether or not that equates to a good movie is another question entirely, but they've certainly managed to gather together a massive group of genre icons all in one place, which is undoubtedly enticing.

As we see in the trailer, the movie will take place at a state-of-the-art prison for mentally unstable criminals. What could possibly go wrong? While they seem to be keeping many of the money shots at bay until the movie is actually released, we see that the criminals in question aren't going to stay locked up, which is clearly going to be an issue. There

Rebecca Romijn Will Lead a Group of Satanists in Fangoria's New Horror Film Satanic Panic

It’s great to see Fangoria back in action and producing horror movies! I really enjoyed their last film Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich. It really captured the greatness of those old-school B-horror films.

Their next movie is a horror comedy called Satanic Panic, which is said to include “a healthy dash of imaginative gore.” Rebecca Romijn (Star Trek: Discovery, X-Men) is set to star in the Chelsea Stardust-directed film.

The plot follows a pizza delivery girl (Hayley Griffith) at the end of her financial rope who has to fight for her life — and her tips — when her last order of the night turns out to be high society Satanists (led by Romijn) in need of a virgin sacrifice.

Sounds like it will be a silly fun horror film! Romijn and Griffith will be joined by Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day), Arden Myrin (Insatiable), Jerry O’Connell (Carter), Aj Bowen

Re-Animator’s Barbara Crampton on producing, eighties genre flicks and the challenges for women in genre cinema – Grimmfest 2018

  • HeyUGuys
Revered eighties horror icon Barbara Crampton is as popular now as she’s ever been, largely due to the next generation of horror directors who came of age watching her earlier work who are now casting her in their own genre offerings. Guest of honour at this year’s Grimmfest in Manchester, Crampton also cropped in three of the films screening there, including a welcome revisit of the aforementioned Stuart Gordon classic in which she initially made her name, the intriguingly-structured cabin in the woods horror Dead Night, and the hilarious and gore-filled Puppet Master reboot, entitled Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich.

We had to change to grab some time with Crampton during the festival – she also participated in some fun post-screening Q&As for her films – where we talked about the legacy of her work from decades back, and the more hands-on approach she enjoys taking with some of her recent films.

Michael Myers Menaces Cover of First Fangoria Return Issue

Fangoria is back in a big way. The horror magazine of the 80s and 90s is returning in print, and they're also producing brand new movies, with Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich in theaters earlier this year. Fangoria is ready to launch their first return issue. And stalking the cover is none other than Halloween bad boy Michael Myers, looking as menacing as ever.

For old school horror fans, it's a little hard to believe that Michael Myers and Fangoria are both back as Halloween quickly approached. The first issue of Fangoria's newly re-launched magazine is shipping out to those smart enough to have already subscribed. And the team behind getting this classic horror staple back up and running have shared the very first cover for the magazine's hugely anticipated revival.

Fangoria isn't necessarily reinventing itself. We get the classic art layout we all fondly remember being so fascinated with back in the day.

Halloween’s Michael Myers Graces The Cover Of Fangoria’s Returning Issue

Though I’m thrilled to live in an age which sees entertainment news appearing on the internet the moment it breaks, I won’t forget how I loved reading magazines pertaining to movies and video games during my formative years. I mean, there are some notable ones that’ve stuck around, though they aren’t as plentiful as before.

So, if you were also a genre nut, then you likely remember picking up publications such as Fangoria and Starlog at some point. Fortunately, the former is making a comeback and doing it in style by getting in on the hype surrounding Blumhouse’s upcoming Halloween sequel.

Seen below, the cover lined up for the returning issue prominently features the incomparable Michael Myers, who’s someone we can all agree on being one of the most recognizable faces in the entire horror genre. I mean, if you were trying to relaunch something geared toward the macabre,

Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich Comes to 4K Ultra HD This September
Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich is coming home this fall, and now you can own every gory bit of viscera that this mean machine sprays across the screen in glorious shades of crimson red, which will look even brighter and scarier in 4K Ultra HD.

The movie was written by S. Craig Zahler, who is becoming quite notorious in horror circles, delivering the hard-hitting Western Bone Tomahawk, which left many jaws on the floor. And he's behind the Vince Vaughn thriller Brawl in Cell Block 99, which gutted many with its devastating blows.

Directing this new Puppet Master movie is Sonny Laguna, who is best known for his films Wither, Animalistic, and Blood Runs Cold. He worked alongside partner Tommy Wiklund,

‘Animalistic’ Review

Stars: Hanna Oldenburg, Ralf Beck, Torbjörn Andersson, Niki Nordenskjöld, Cheryl Murphy, Johanna Wagrell | Written by Sonny Laguna, Tommy Wiklund, David Liljeblad | Directed by Sonny Laguna, Tommy Wiklund

Animalistic comes from the directorial team of Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wirklund. A duo whose have decent form when it comes to genre filmmaking. Their previous film, Wither was a nod to the Evil Dead movies; and Laguna was also behind the Superb Swedish winter-set slasher film Blood Runs Cold, one of my favourite films of 2011 (was it really that long ago?). The pair were also in the directors chair for the recent Puppet Master reboot/redux, Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich – which is undoubtedly one of the reasons Wild Eye Releasing chose to distribute this particular movie right now… after all, this film, under the title We Are Monsters, originally debuted in 2015 across the rest of the world.

Animalistic tells the story of Emma,
