Trivia

Although they had no scenes together here, James Madio and Donnie Wahlberg both starred in Band of Brothers (2001) where their characters served in the same Army unit. See more »

Goofs

Police agencies such as the NYPD have very strict conduct guidelines, so officers can be punished (up to and including loss of job) for misconduct regardless of any criminal trial. Despite what was depicted it is unlikely an officer involved in the shooting of an unarmed citizen as described would be retained by the department. See more »

Brothers cross paths
2 September 2016 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

The paths of Reagan brothers Donnie Wahlberg and Will Estes cross on the same case. Wahlberg is looking for a robber of some high end bling and Estes is the initial officer on the scene and takes a statement and a personal interest in one of the people reporting. Of course the result isn't to the liking of one Reagan.

Wahlberg has some side issues as another detective Jonathan Schaech starts to rekindle an old relationship with Marisa Ramirez.

Tom Selleck as Commissioner has a personnel problem to deal with in the routine promotion of officer Warren Kole. Back before Selleck was Commissioner Kole was one of several officers brought to trial for the shooting death of a kid in an Eleanor Bumpers type situation. He was acquitted at trial and has an unblemished record since. Still the public does not forget.

I'm not sure the results were the right thing, but it sure was the most expedient. It's quite a knotty problem Selleck has to resolve. The best scene in the show is when Will Estes puts forth his own opinion with his father because he feels he has to.

I'd watch this episode for that alone.
