BondIt Media Capital Closes $20 Million Credit Facility (Exclusive)

BondIt Media Capital has closed an institutional credit facility of $20 million from Texas-based hedge fund Revere Capital.

BondIt said on Thursday that the facility will leverage its ability to provide financing solutions to the ever-growing number of films, TV series, and media companies in the sector.

In the four years since inception, BondIt Media Capital has provided debt financing to more than 230 feature films and TV shows, resulting in more than $200 million of production spending. Recent BondIt-financed projects include Netflix’s “To the Bone,” starring Lily Collins; “Driven,” with Jason Sudeikis, and the Oscar-nominated animated film “Loving Vincent.”

The deal was structured by BondIt chief financial officer Patrick DePeters, Revere Capital’s Ed Wu and Brian O’Flanagan, and Mark Parsa from Brooklyn Park Asset Management.

In a pre-Cannes Film Festival signing, Lily Collins has come on board to star in the forest survival thriller “Titan.”

Austin Bunn, who wrote “Kill Your Darlings,” is attached to direct. Christine Vachon is producing with David Hinojosa for Killer Films.

Xyz Films is executive producing and will launch international sales at the Cannes Film Festival. CAA and UTA are handling the domestic rights.

Collins will portray a young musician on a quest to understand the life of her environmental activist sister, who was killed years earlier in a fall in a remote redwood tree grove. She asks an associate of her sister to take her to the same location, putting herself in peril.

Zac Efron has taken to Instagram to share a couple of images from director Joe Berlinger’s upcoming thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which features his Ted Bundy alongside Kaya Scodelario, who plays the infamous serial killer’s ex-wife Carole Ann Boone; take a look here…

Kaya Scodelario, Jim Parsons, Haley Joel Osment and more join Ted Bundy thriller Extremely Wicked

With filming on the Zac Efron-headlined Ted Bundy thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile now underway, Variety is reporting that director Joe Berlinger has rounded out the cast of the film with the addition of Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), Terry Kinney (Billions) and Dylan Baker (The Americans).

Scodelario is set to portray Carole Ann Boone, the ex-wife of Efron’s notorious serial killer, with Parsons as lead prosecutor Larry Simpson, Baker as prosecutor David Yokum, Kinney as Detective Mike Fisher, and Osment as the other love interest of Bundy’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins (To the Bone). Also featuring in the cast are John Malkovich (Deepwater Horizon), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), Grace Victoria Cox (Heathers) and Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice).

At a time when Hollywood’s conditions feel particularly grim, it’s important to recognize the movements and resources continuously committed to industrial change and an equality-driven future. The Alice Initiative is among those that have been doing just that.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, The Alice Initiative, which first began in 2016, consists of a group of anonymous female film executives devoted to annually spotlighting 20 talented female directors who have yet to direct a studio feature film. It is named after 20th century French filmmaker Alice Guy-Blanche, who is considered the first female director.

The annual survey is conducted via emailed responses from over 50 executives and producers. It highlights women who have directed a (non-studio) feature alongside those who have worked in TV and/or short films.

Voltage fully finances; introduced thriller to Cannes buyers last summer.

John Malkovich has joined Zac Efron on the cast of Voltage’s Ted Bundy thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile ahead of a January 18 production start.

Joe Berlinger will direct the true-crime thriller from a screenplay by Michael Werwie that won the Nicholl Fellowship first prize and was featured on the Black List.

Ara Keshishian and Voltage chief Nicolas Chartier are producing for the company, alongside Michael Costigan for Cota Entertainment, and Michael Simkin for Efron’s Ninjas Runnin Wild Productions. Voltage introduced the project in Cannes last summer and fully finances, with Jonathan Deckter and Ninjas Runnin Wild’s Jason Barrett on board as executive producers.

Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables is one of the most well known and adapted stories, being turned into a hit play and numerous adaptations on the big and small screen, the most recent of which was the 2012 feature film starring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway. Now it is getting another adaptation on the BBC as a six-part miniseries.

Les Misérables follows Jean Valjean, a convicted felon who was sent to jail for stealing a loaf of bread for his family. Upon his release Valjean takes on a new name to hide his past crimes, but is ruthlessly hunted by Inspector Javert. After meeting a young woman named Fantine who lives in destitute, being forced to send her daughter Cossette away, Valjean’s life is forever changed as he looks to take care of Cosette while France is still reeling from the ramifications of the French Revolution.

BBC announce 'Les Miserables' series with Dominic West, David Oyelowo and Lily Collins

Andrew Davies (War And Peace) will adapt the six-part series.

BBC One has announced a new small-screen adaptation of Les Miserables.

Dominic West (The Affair) stars as Jean Valjean, and David Oyelowo (Selma) will play his nemesis Javert. Lily Collins (To The Bone) will play Fantine, while newcomer Erin Kellyman will play Eponine. Olivia Colman, Adeel Akhtar and Ellie Bamber will also feature.

Bafta-nominated writer Andrew Davies (Pride And Prejudice, War And Peace), will adapt the six-part series from Victor Hugo’s classic novel.

The series will be directed by Tom Shankland (Ripper Street, House Of Cards). It is a co-production between Lookout Point and BBC Studios for BBC One and PBS Masterpiece.

Craig Roberts cast in Tolkien biopic

Variety is reporting that Submarine and Red Oaks star Craig Roberts has become the latest addition to the cast of Tolkien, the upcoming J.R.R. Tolkien biopic starring Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Apocalypse) as The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author.

Roberts is set to play Sam, a soldier who serves with Tolkien during The Great War. He joins a cast that also includes Lily Collins (To the Bone), Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and Tom Glynn-Carney (Dunkirk), while Dome Karukoski (Tom of Finland) directs.

Tolkien will explore the legendary author’s formative years at school as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a fellow group of outcasts prior to the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear their ‘fellowship’ apart.

Roberts is currently starring in the third and final season of Amazon’s Red Oaks, and will next be seen in the historical drama The Current War.

Extremely Wicked is being directed by Joe Berlinger (Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) from Michael Werwie’s Nicholl Fellowship-winning script and will tell its story from the perspective of Kloepfer during the period that Bundy hid his murder spree from his live-in lover. Following his arrest, Bundy would confess to 30 murders across seven states and was executed for his crimes in 1989.

Lily Collins will star opposite Zac Efron as the former girlfriend of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in the thriller “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.”

Voltage is handling sales at the American Film Market, which opens Wednesday in Santa Monica, Calif.

The film is told from the point of view of Elizabeth Kloepfer during the multi-year period that Bundy hid his murder spree from his live-in lover, played by Collins.

Collins recently starred in “To the Bone” and “Okja,” and was also nominated for a Golden Globe for best actress (comedy) for her starring role in “Rules Don’t Apply.” She will star as Edith Bratt in Dome Karukoski’s “Tolkien.”

Efron came aboard the Voltage Pictures project at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Bundy was executed in 1989. Shortly before his execution, he confessed to 30 homicides committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978.

TV director Matt Barber (Lethal Weapon, The 100), has signed on to direct the urban fantasy-thriller feature Guardian.

Guardian is Barber’s feature film directorial debut and is being produced by Nick Byassee (48 Hours to Live), Joseph Lanius (To the Bone) and Shing Ka (Revenge of The Green Dragons), with Lyndon A.V. Brown (Exposed) executive producing and Judy Henderson (Homeland) serving as casting director.
