When Dutch and company land on Arkyn, there is a cliff wall behind the ship. Note the vertical whitish stripes on the cliff face. Those are the remains of the blast holes drilled into the rock of this limestone quarry. Quite a lot of the rugged, desolate, alien landscapes on TV are really quarries.
