‘Venom’ Licks $461M Global; ‘Star Is Born’ Strums Past $200M; ‘Halloween’ Takes $92M Ww Bow – International Box Office

  • Deadline
Updated, Sunday writethru: Sony’s Venom continues to lead the international box office, scoring a hat trick at No. 1 with $32.3 million this weekend for an offshore cume of $290.7M and a global total to date of $461.2M — and that’s with China and Japan still on deck. In second, Warner Bros’ A Star Is Born rocked out to $22.8M to push the offshore total to $74.7M and the worldwide tally past the $200M mark.

Behind those overseas is Universal/Miramax/Blumhouse’s Halloween. The pic’s offshore rollout is staggered with Jamie Lee Curtis’ badass Laurie Strode striding into 23 markets this session, including only three majors. The reboot-sequel slashed away at $14.3M in its debut. Coupled with the movie’s scary good domestic opening, that lifts the worldwide bow to $91.8M.

The overseas Halloween numbers are in line with where Universal had the pic as we headed into the weekend,

When will we get our first look at Avengers 4? That’s the question on every Marvel fan’s lips right now. Well, behind “when will the studio reveal the official title?”

Unfortunately, Kevin Feige and co. are keeping mum on the matter at present, so it’s left to the rest of us to try and guess just what their plan of action might be. Thankfully, Express has now come up with a pretty good idea of when it’ll all go down, and it sounds like the very first preview for the Infinity War sequel could be here in a few weeks.

According to the outlet, Disney’s likely to attach the trailer to one of their upcoming releases, and though some expected it to premiere alongside The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, that rumor was debunked earlier this week. So, that leaves Ralph Breaks the Internet as the

Keira Knightley Banned Her Daughter From Watching Disney Films Like ‘Cinderella’ Because They’re Not Empowering to Women
Cinderella” and “The Little Mermaid” are Disney animated classics beloved by adults and children all over the world, but that isn’t stopping Keira Knightley from banning the titles in her house. The actress told Ellen Degeneres during an appearance on her talk show that she isn’t letting her three-year-old daughter watch certain Disney princess films because they are not empowering to women.

When it comes to “Cinderella,” Knightley explained the storyline just doesn’t set a good example for young women. “She waits around for a rich guy to rescue her,” Knightley said. “Don’t. Rescue yourself — obviously.” The actress feels the same about “The Little Mermaid,” even if she admits the songs are good. “Do not give your voice up for a man!” Knightley noted.

Knightley got her career breakthrough thanks to Disney by starring as Elizabeth Swann in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. Although the

Keira Knightley Bans Her Daughter From Seeing These Disney Movies

Keira Knightley Bans Her Daughter From Seeing These Disney Movies
Keira Knightley is currently making the rounds to promote Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming movie The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (in theaters Nov. 2). But as the 33-year-old actress confessed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday, she's not a fan of every movie the studio has produced, particularly when it involves Disney Princesses who don't uphold her feminist values. As a result, the actress has forbidden her 3-year-old daughter, Edie Knightley Righton, from watching certain movies. Cinderella, released in 1950, is "banned," Knightley said, "because she waits around for a rich guy to rescue her. Don't! Rescue yourself. Obviously! And this is the one that I'm quite annoyed about because I...

‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Finally Gets China Release Date; ‘Aquaman’ Diving In Early

  • Deadline
For a while there, it seemed increasingly dubious that Warner Bros’ domestic smash Crazy Rich Asians would gain entry to the world’s second-largest market. Today, however, comes word that the film has secured a November 30 China release date, which WB has confirmed to Deadline. Based on the Kevin Kwan novel and directed by Jon M Chu, Cra has grossed over $171M in North America and $57M at the international box office so far.

The November 30 date is a full three-and-a-half months after the movie debuted in a staggered pattern. While it’s not uncommon for dating to be spaced out between China and other markets, that remains a fair stretch and could impact business prospects in the Middle Kingdom. In mid-September, I wrote that Chinese authorities were still mulling a yea or nay on giving the film a quota slot. It was thought that although WB was playing up

Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek is in the lead role as Mercury, the frontman for Queen. New Regency and Gk Films are the production companies. Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Killer Queen,” “Somebody to Love,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” and “We Are the Champions.” Dexter Fletcher came on board to direct in December after Fox fired Bryan Singer from the project. However, Singer has retained the directing credit.

An opening of more than $26 million for “Bohemian Rhapsody” would give it the second highest music biopic opening ever, after a $60 million opening weekend in 2015 for “Straight Outta Compton.” Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez on Me” opened to $26.4 million in 2017.

Bohemian Rhapsody” will open against Disney

From Twilight to The Nutcracker, Mackenzie Foy Has Come a Long Way
For every success story, there are hundreds of child actors who never transition successfully into teen and adult roles or simply lose interest in the industry. So far, however, actress Mackenzie Foy seems to have avoided this. Best known for playing Renesmee in The Twilight Saga when she was just 10 years old, Foy's career definitely started with a bang. With a variety of roles, from film to television and even modeling, Foy has built a résumé that looks like the beginnings of a fantastic career.

What's even more impressive? She's done all this even before she's an actual adult! Born on Nov. 10, 2000, Foy is not quite yet 18 years old. Most of us probably weren't nearly that accomplished at age 17, which makes us admire her even more. She's about to have her biggest role yet, as Clara in Disney's upcoming holiday epic adventure The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. We
