Intrigue

The destinies of three characters overlap against the backdrop of the Syrian crisis since 2011. Led by life-changing events in Syria, Subhi, Husain, and Afraa (the director) each undergo a journey to discover themselves and the others.

A deeply personal film that explores the director's memories of her two closest friends, Hussein and Soubhi, as they struggle to reconcile their actions in politically and socially trying times in Syria . As Afraa the director observes their gradual collapse from behind the camera, she realizes later upon reflection that their disintegrate.—Carthage Film Festival
