Wrongfully convicted for murder, Henri Charriere forms an unlikely relationship with fellow inmate and quirky convicted counterfeiter Louis Dega, in an attempt to escape from the notorious penal colony on Devil's Island.
Early 1970s. Four strangers check in at the El Royale Hotel. The hotel is deserted, staffed by a single desk clerk. Some of the new guests' reasons for being there are less than innocent and some are not who they appear to be.
Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities, take fate into their own hands, and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.
A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, HOTEL MUMBAI vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award-Nominee Dev Patel, Slumdog Millionaire) who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests. As the world watches on, a desperate couple (Armie Hammer, Call Me By Your Name and Nazanin Boniadi, "Homeland") is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.Written by

[speaking in Punjabi]
You feel strong. You feel calm. There is no fear in your heart. Look across at your brothers... and see me in their eyes. You are all like sons to me. I am with you. God is with you. Paradise awaits you. God is great.

Maybe this is so trivial but wonder in the real situation people were wearing shoes and not think to go barefoot to avoid being heard by the terrorists. There was this scene when the guy ran across the lobby to the elevator and I'm sure one of the gunned man would hear him, he was very close. Well it's a movie based in true events so,were they really wearing shoes or shoes were added for dramatic effect?
