Willem Dafoe Reportedly Being Eyed For Big McU Villain Role

Willem Dafoe Reportedly Being Eyed For Big McU Villain Role
The Spider-Man callbacks keep rolling into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A few weeks ago, it was reported that Sam Raimi is in talks to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and now there’s a potential second Raimi-trilogy reunion coming to the McU.

Sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us National Treasure 3 was in development last year and that Han would return in Fast & Furious 9 back in the summer, both of which are now confirmed – say that Willem Dafoe is one of the names being looked at for a potential villain role in the franchise. Dafoe has long had an association with the superhero genre and supervillains, of course, and though fans will have spotted him as good-guy Nuidis Vulko in 2018’s Aquaman, it was his performance as bad bad baddie Norman Osborn (aka the Green Goblin) in Spider-Man that garnered him the most acclaim.

‘The Witcher’ Season 2 Production Has Commenced — With Some New Faces
Production officially began this month in the U.K. on Season 2 of Netflix’s “The Witcher,” the streaming service announced today. The series was renewed for an eight-episode second season — planned to be released in 2021 — a month before its December 2019 release.

Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books (which were also adapted into a popular video game series), “The Witcher” tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, the eponymous witcher, who travels from town to town accepting missions in exchange for “coin.” The first season of Netflix’s “The Witcher” proved to be a success for the streaming platform, as it was reportedly viewed by 76 million households within the first four weeks of its release. That makes for a lot of individuals getting “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” stuck in their head.

Geralt of Rivia himself, Henry Cavill, is set to return for “The Witcher’s” sophomore season. As are

‘The Witcher’ Season 2 Production Starts in U.K., Adds Seven to Cast Including ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Kristofer Hivju

The show also announced seven new cast members joining “The Witcher” for S2, including Kristofer Hivju, the Norwegian actor who played the red-bearded wilding leader Tormund Giantsbane on “Game of Thrones.”

Netflix last month claimed “The Witcher” Season 1 was tracking to be its biggest original TV series debut to date. However, that’s according to a new metric invented by the company that found 76 million member households watched at least 2 minutes of the show in the first four weeks after its Dec. 20 release.

The streamer renewed “The Witcher” for Season 2 last fall with an eight-episode order, more than a month before the freshman season hit the streaming service. The show represents “a massive new franchise that we’ll develop season after season,” Netflix chairman/CEO Reed Hastings said on the

Mission: Impossible Star Reportedly Eyed For Disney’s Planet Of The Apes Movie

Mission: Impossible Star Reportedly Eyed For Disney’s Planet Of The Apes Movie
Of the many franchises plunged into limbo by Disney’s Fox buyout – yep, that story again – sci-fi’s favourite talking animals saga Planet of the Apes is high on the list of filmgoer concerns. It’s definitely fair to describe it as a talking animals saga. Not misleading in the slightest, right?

30 months on from the release of the last outing, 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes, there’s now a new movie in development, even if it doesn’t have a release date yet. And while details are still scarce on what to expect, we’re told that Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson is one name of several being eyed for the female lead. No word yet on what the role would be, but given that this intel comes to us from the same sources who said Han would return in Fast & Furious 9 and a

John Wick Spinoff Starring Halle Berry’s Sofia Reportedly In The Works

John Wick Spinoff Starring Halle Berry’s Sofia Reportedly In The Works
Halle Berry’s Sofia made quite the impression in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Though she only appeared in three extended scenes, those may have been the best bits of the film.

For those who haven’t seen it, Berry’s Sofia is a veteran assassin and manager at the Moroccan Continental who owes Keanu Reeves’ John a favor. The pair bond over their love of dogs as they head out with Sofia’s two Belgian Malinois hounds in tow to meet Jerome Flynn’s villainous Barracuda. Barracuda then does the one thing you definitely don’t want to do in a John Wick movie: he shoots one of the dogs.

Fortunately, this dog’s wearing a bulletproof vest. Even so, it leads into a brutal and amazing extended action sequence where the two assassins (and the dogs) kick some serious ass. And now it seems that we might get

Supergirl Might Make Her Dceu Debut In Black Adam

Supergirl Might Make Her Dceu Debut In Black Adam
Black Adam will mark the long-awaited debut of Dwayne Johnson’s anti-villain, but it will also serve as the beginnings of a whole new superhero team in the Dceu. The Rock’s ruler of Kahndaq will face off against the Justice Society of America in the movie, something that’s been confirmed by the star himself.

Heroes such as Hawkman, Stargirl and Doctor Fate are believed to be set to appear in the film and it’s possible that another major super-powered character not typically connected with the Jsa could also feature in Black Adam. We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who said that Han would return in Fast & Furious 9 and Aladdin 2 is in development at Disney, both of which are now confirmed – that there are talks taking place at Warner Bros. to insert Supergirl into the movie. The idea is

Imax has significant exposure in China but is growing rapidly around the world. Over 70% of its theaters are in international markets. It’s currently got 1,529 commercial theaters worldwide and sees that potentially expanding to 3,300 locations. Goonies Remake Reportedly In The Works, New Mutants Director Eyed
The beloved 1985 classic The Goonies is reportedly the next film to get the remake treatment, with The New Mutants director Josh Boone being eyed for the project. Yes, Boone is one name the studio is apparently considering to helm the movie, but at this time, there are no details on the cast, plot or even writers. In fact, all our sources – the same ones who said a new Scream film is happening and that Aladdin 2 is in development, both of which we now know to be true – can tell us is that the property is coming back to the big screen and it’ll be a remake, not a sequel.

Of course, as fans will know, The Goonies was directed by Richard Donner and produced by Steven Spielberg. The cast included Corey Feldman, Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin and Avengers: Endgame‘s Josh Brolin way back before they were household names.

Tron Sequel With Jared Leto Reportedly Moving Forward

While rumours of a Tron reboot featuring Suicide Squad‘s Jared Leto have been circulating since 2017, we may finally have some fresh, new intel about the mysterious sci-fi project.

That’s right, according to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us Hopper would be back for Stranger Things season 4 and about Han’s return in Fast & Furious 9, both of which have now been officially confirmed – we’re hearing that the upcoming follow-up will be more of a spinoff than a full-blown reboot. Additionally, the working title that the studio is currently using internally is Tron: Ares. Whether this will be the official title going forward, though, we’re not entirely sure.

Furthermore, our sources tell us that the Oscar-winning Jared Leto is now officially attached to the project and that he’ll play the titular character, Ares, who the film will distinctly focus on.

The Hills Have Eyes Remake Reportedly In Development, Evil Dead Director Eyed

The Hills Have Eyes Remake Reportedly In Development, Evil Dead Director Eyed
One of the best horror movies of the 1970s, Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes helped put the filmmaker on the map following his controversially received debut The Last House on the Left. We received a sequel to the original, as well as an Alexandre Aja remake in 2006, which itself produced a follow-up. But it now seems that, according to our sources, the producers behind the series want to go back for another reboot of the material and are eyeing Fede Álvarez of Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe fame to put it together.

A second remake of The Hills Have Eyes was always a possibility, of course, given the commercial success of Aja’s 2006 remake and the current drive to emulate the success of the Halloween series. To this end, Alvarez is also involved in a new version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, while we should be getting more

Vin Diesel Left Speechless As Fast & Furious 9 Trailer Hits 500 Million Views

Vin Diesel Left Speechless As Fast & Furious 9 Trailer Hits 500 Million Views
Vin Diesel has never been a man of many words, which may have been part of the reason that Marvel Studios hired him to voice the linguistically-limited flora colossi Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. A man of action, he’d much rather ski-jump down the side of a radio tower, trade blows in a desiccated warehouse with WWE superstar Dwayne Johnson, or battle nocturnal bioraptors on the arid planes of planet M6-117 during a total eclipse.

When he saw the first trailer for the latest installment of his high-octane street-racing-turned-spy-fi Fast Saga, for instance, Diesel “was just speechless,” and now that the four-minute promo for Fast & Furious 9 has accrued more than half-a-billion views, the actor once again finds himself at a loss for words:

Speechless… Hope to make you proud. All love, Always.

Robin Will Reportedly Cameo In The Batman To Set Up A Spinoff

Do you know it’s been nearly 25 years since Robin was in a live-action DC film? The Lego Batman Movie did feature a comedic take on him, sure, but to date, Chris O’Donnell’s performance in 1997’s Batman & Robin was the last time Dick Grayson appeared in the flesh on the big screen. This drought could be about to end with Matt Reeves’ The Batman, however.

For a while now, there’ve been whispers about Robin potentially showing up in Robert Pattinson’s debut as the Dark Knight and sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who said Disney is developing Aladdin 2 and John Cena is playing Vin Diesel’s brother in Fast & Furious 9, both of which have since been confirmed – say that the sidekick is indeed in the film. Don’t expect a prolonged role for the hero, though, as we’re hearing that he

The Batman Has Reportedly Added Another Villain To Its Ranks

The Batman Has Reportedly Added Another Villain To Its Ranks
Initial reports on The Batman pointed to Matt Reeves’ movie bulging at the seams with supervillains, but with the film now in production, it appears that the writer/director has streamlined the rogues gallery somewhat. It’s known that four, instead of six or seven, of the Dark Knight’s foes will have major roles in Robert Pattinson’s debut turn as the hero – Penguin (Colin Farrell), Riddler (Paul Dano), Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).

Other characters that have been attached to the project before now include Two-Face and Scarecrow, but Wgtc has previously brought you the news that Harvey Dent has ultimately been held back until the sequel. It seemed that the same was true of Jonathan Crane as well, but our latest intel points to Scarecrow actually having a cameo in The Batman.

Michael Fassbender Reportedly Eyed For Fan Favorite Villain Role In Sherlock Holmes 3

Michael Fassbender Reportedly Eyed For Fan Favorite Villain Role In Sherlock Holmes 3
After the Dolittle debacle, which saw the movie stake a claim for becoming 2020’s biggest box office bomb despite only being released in the third week of January, with the family fantasy more likely to be remembered for the now-infamous dragon colonoscopy scene more than anything else, Robert Downey Jr. could really use a hit movie to rehabilitate his already-flagging reputation.

There are now many people questioning whether the 54 year-old made the right decision in leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, given that he had grown so accustomed to remaining in his comfort zone as Tony Stark, but luckily for him, Rdj has another multi-billion dollar franchise to fall back on.

Sherlock Holmes 3 is still scheduled to be released next December and while both entries in the franchise earned over $500 million apiece at the box office, the third installment is far from a sure bet at this point given the

Cube Reboot Reportedly In The Works, Original Director Could Return

Cube Reboot Reportedly In The Works, Original Director Could Return
“I think we have to ask the big questions! What does it want? What is it thinking?”

Released back in 1998, Vincenzo Natali’s mind-bending horror-thriller, Cube, is still a strong contender for one of the most underrated and overlooked pics in the entire genre. Not only did the Canadian indie flick go on to pave the way for many modern mainstream horror movies like Saw and The Cabin In The Woods, but it also cemented the film’s writer-director as one to watch, while spawning a couple of inferior sequels to boot.

Though there were rumours of a reboot to the cult sci-fi horror flick many years ago, the franchise has officially lain dormant since 2004’s Cube: Zero. Now, however, we’re hearing from our sources – the same ones who told us Han is returning in Fast & Furious 9 and Disney is developing National Treasure 3, both of which
