A strong concept powers a high point in season 11
19 October 2020 | by CubsandCultureSee all my reviews

The Soul Eater is one of the better monsters the show has come up with; it is a unique hunting pattern for a monster. The director also manages to make the episode creepier than the average one by leaning into the ethereal aspects of the concept. But the best feature of it is the parallel plotting really brings out the generational differences between Bobby, Rufus and the Winchesters. The bickering between both "couples" is very fun. Overall this is a really strong episode in a season that is lackluster.
