The old Brazilian town of Jaguarribarra slowly reemerges from the water that swallowed it 14 years ago - at the foot of a government dam. A 4-year drought is bringing it back. But Lucas' childhood home is still underwater. It haunts him, half-remembered. His Aunt Cilda needs to find it too. She owes a debt to her dead father that can only be repaid at the chapel beside that childhood home. So they set out, against all odds determined to find their long drowned past.
