Robert Blake talks about his new TV movie "Hell Town", and battling with network executives over its themes and airdate. He also talks about some dislikes: traveling, hotels, elevators, etc. Then he discusses the local obsession with cosmetic surgery, and how he often seems to sabotage his own career because of his difficulty handling success. Then comes the comedy segment, a parody of Dr. Ruth Westheimer. Christie Brinkley talks about modeling, studying in France, and how she was discovered while walking her sick dog, then relates several recent bad experiences while flying.
Did You Know?
Christie Brinkley mentions a fellow passenger referring to a Chinese airline accident; this was China Airlines Flight 006 on February 19, in which a Boeing 747 rolled over and plunged 30,000 feet in two and a half minutes (including several seconds in which the plane was almost in a direct downward dive) after an engine failure at cruising altitude on a flight from Taipei to Los Angeles, before the pilot was able to recover control and make an emergency landing in San Francisco. I do not like to travel. I don't like to go to hotels and get on the 20th floor, and sit there like a pigeon looking out the window, and sleep in a box. I don't like elevators. Whenever I get near an elevator, I'm going in it to go up to see somebody in a suit - and I don't like that. It's a lawyer, or it's some general that you go - you don't get in an elevator to go see your girlfriend or to go fishing or to have a good time.
