Shazam: Producer Teases “Big Things” For Upcoming DC Flick Starring Dwayne Johnson!

Way back in January of last year, I noticed a very distinct trend over in the DC Extended Universe. Much was being said about the likes of Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, The Flash, and Cyborg. Heck, there were even some rumors surrounding the eventual Green Lantern Corps flick. The CW had launched the Dawn of the Justice League special, which outlined the budding universe, but noticeably absent from it all was Shazam.

While not necessarily DC’s most well known character, the studio had, years prior, locked down Dwayne Johnson himself to take on the role of Black Adam. Why would they sign on such a talent if they were just going to let the project languish? It’s been about a year since, and little has changed. Sure, we got the occasional update of producer Hiram Garcia pretty much saying they were figuring things out,

‘Batman v Superman’ Honest Trailer Pokes Fun At The Film That Didn’t Bring ‘Justice’ to Either Hero

‘Batman v Superman’ Honest Trailer Pokes Fun At The Film That Didn’t Bring ‘Justice’ to Either Hero
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is the latest film to get the Honest Trailer treatment from Screen Junkies. Calling it the “battle of the century between critics and fans,” the video starts off by noting that the greatest fight was between the most rabid supporters who sent out death threats and the harshest critics who refused to admit that anything about it was cool.

The seven-minute video tries to explain what happened in the film, but gets overwhelmed by the amount of content and information that was given to viewers. Instead, it resorts to just listing the main plot points.

“Whose idea was it to cram all this into one movie?” the voiceover asks. “They just burned through like six movies worth of good material.”

'Wonder Woman' Finishes Production

The DC Extended Universe may only have a couple of films under its belt at this point, but that hasn't stopped WB from going full-force into their next batch of films. Before a frame of Batman v Superman was even dropped to the public, they already had Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman in production and development, respectively. This August will herald the coming of Suicide Squad, along with the arrival of some of DC's more memorable villains. However, we can't forget that we're only about a year away from seeing Wonder Woman in her own solo film.

We caught our first glimpses of Wonder Woman in the DC special Dawn Of The Justice League, but even that was when the film was relatively early on in its production. Now, however, Gal Gadot has shared that principle photography for Wonder Woman is finally complete.

Kevin Smith Gifts Daughter with Harley Quinn's 'Suicide Squad' Bat
A few weeks ago, The CW Network aired a half-hour special entitled DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, which was hosted by director Kevin Smith and DC's Geoff Johns. The special featured the second trailer for the highly-anticipated Suicide Squad, which stars Margot Robbie as the iconic comic book character Harley Quinn. As many fans know, Kevin Smith named his own daughter Harley Quinn Smith after this character, and the director revealed he gave his daughter the actual bat Margot Robbie used in Suicide Squad.

Kevin Smith says Ben Affleck might be “the best Batman we’ve seen so far”

Following his hosting duties on DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, Kevin Smith headed to Sundance to premiere his new movie Yoga Hosers [watch the first clip here]. Speaking to Variety at Sundance, the conversation soon turned to the DC Extended Universe as Smith shared his reaction to Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

“Right away, he’s the best looking Batman we’ve ever seen,” said Smith. “The hardest thing to nail about Batman is Bruce Wayne, because that’s where you’ve got no mask and you’ve got to be a human being. But that dude is Bruce Wayne, so he’s born to play that role. Now it looks like he is the best Batman we’ve seen so far.”

Affleck’s casting as Batman was met by a backlash by many fans, although some opinions have softened based upon the footage we

Grant Gustin Wants 'The Flash' Fans to Stop Bashing Ezra Miller

Grant Gustin Wants 'The Flash' Fans to Stop Bashing Ezra Miller
In just a few months, Warner Bros. will kick off its DC Comics Extended Universe Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This epic adventure has been rumored to introduce Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), who will form the Justice League with Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). Each of these characters will get their own stand alone movie, but there are some fans who have taken issue with The Flash's casting, since Warner Bros. didn't cast Grant Gustin who plays Barry Allen on The CW's The Flash.

Warner Bros. has long said that the DC Comics universe that exists on TV, in shows like The CW's Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Fox's Gotham and CBS' Supergirl, is separate from the universe it's building on the big screen. Still, some die-hard fans of The CW's The Flash
