Trivia

Origin of the Title:
  • In bitwise operations, a mask is data that turns bits to 1 (on) or 0 (off). It is a simple operation used to put images over a screen, such as moving video game images in early games such as PacMan.
  • The extension: The .tc extension indicates a file has been encrypted with TrueCrypt. True Crypt was a freeware encryption program used for on-the-fly encyption. It was discontinued in 2014, following issues with unfixed file security problems.

Goofs

Near the end when Joanna Wellick's phone rings and then shows the time and date, it shows the date as Sunday, 15 June. The last time 15 June fell on a Sunday was 2014. Yet earlier in the premier episode we hear someone say something about "2015 will be the year to remember..." See more »

Quotes

Phillip Price: If I resign, then any scrap of confidence the public is already clinging onto will be destroyed, and we all know a con doesn't work without the confidence. If this was the best idea you could come up with for a win, I shouldn't be the one resigning. I have to head back to New York. Let me know when you've locked up the votes,

The First Dull Episode
5 October 2016 | by solemnphilosopherSee all my reviews

I've really enjoyed Mr. Robot, but this second season hasn't intrigued me as much as the first season. The first episode was decent, but not spectacular. This second episode, however, nearly lost me.

My mind started to wander and I had to stay focused to finish the episode. Much of the episode revolved around a depressed and sulking Elliot, it just wasn't that exciting. So far I also don't find the current overall storyline compelling.

It looks like I am not the only reviewer that wasn't overly impressed by this episode. Never-the-less, the ratings for the later season two episodes remain high. I am going to try and finish the season. Hopefully things will pick up.
