Defense Grid 2: Masterful tower defense
15 May 2019 | by PlatypuschowSee all my reviews

Tower defense games are extremely popular these days and Defense Grid 2 demonstrates why.

A TD game with actual towers it's a fantastic addictive multifaceted sci-fi effort that got my attention and held it tight.

Varied enemies appear from point A which must reach point B and get back to A again. That's the general gist though sometimes C, D, E and F can come into play as well. You have assigned locations to build on and can choose from a wide array of towers varying from guns, flame throwers, missiles and other miscellaneous types to assist in your survival.

With countless modifications, difficulties, twists and methods at your disposal the game has an incredible degree of replay value if you're seeking a challenge.

The difficulty is high but balanced by the ability to restart checkpoints at will (Which are frequent).

I really enjoyed Defense Grid 2, was thoroughly hooked and left wanting more.

The Good:

Very addictive

A lot of content

The Bad:

Frustrating at times

Checkpoints make the game a tad easy in places
