Storyline

Imagine living across the street from the headquarters of a notorious mob outfit. Alec Wilkinson, a staff writer for The New Yorker, did just that during the rise of the Gotti-era mafia rule in Manhattan's Little Italy in the 1970s and '80s. Exploring the stories of Alec and others, The Ravenite is an irreverent glimpse into a never-before-seen side of the mob: the absurd and unnerving daily realities of what it was like to be their neighbor. This half-hour documentary and series of vignettes take a look back at a changing neighborhood and bygone era. Written by Public Pictures
