Dorome: Girls

I stumbled upon the 2016 Japanese movie "Dorome: Joshi-Hen" (aka "Dorome Girls") here late in 2022. And seeing it was a horror movie, and a Japanese horror movie nonetheless, of course I opted to sit down and watch it.

However, this movie was just insanely disappointing. Director Eisuke Naitô took forever to tell virtually nothing. You have to go almost 1 hour into the movie before anything starts to happen, and by then it was just too little, too late. I turned off the movie at that point, simply because I was bored senseless from watching absolutely nothing worthwhile or anything of any interest on the screen.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, but the actors and actresses were struggling against having nothing to work with in terms of interesting script or characters. So they were fighting a lost cause.

"Dorome: Joshi-Hen" was a massive waste of time, money and effort. And if you enjoy Japanese horror movies, do yourself a favor and stay well clear of this stinker. The only thing scary about "Dorome: Joshi-Hen" is how frightfully slow paced, monotonous and pointless the movie actually was.

My rating of director Eisuke Naitô's 2016 horror movie lands on a two out of ten stars.
