The Closing Statements
5 January 2016 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

This is the episode where the lawyers present their closing statements. They do a nice job of flipping back and forth to see point/counterpoint. The emphasis in the Avery case has to do with a lack of forensic evidence. In Brendan Dassey's case, we are shown how the evidence as obtained and how vulnerable he was. We also see that a young girl who said Brendan had told her details about the crime said she had made it all up. Brendan takes the stand and also says that he made things up because they made promises to him. We ultimately get the verdict in the Avery case. I'm sure this series is going to stir up a lot of people. Let's face it. We have a myth at work in this country that because you are a law officer, you get special treatment when you make mistakes. I am very supportive of upstanding law officers, but feel they should be held to the highest standard.
