Did You Know?

Teams in this show tend to follow a specific theme. The team Weiss and Yang battle in the tournament, Team FNKI, are based on Internet culture. Neon Katt, a cat faunus who trails rainbows, is a reference to the Internet meme Nyan Cat. Flynt Coal is a reference to a joke originating from Rooster Teeth's own Achievement Hunter division. A character by the same name has also appeared in X-Ray and Vav (2014). See more »

Yang Xiao Long: You're from Atlas, what can we expect?
Weiss Schnee: Seeing as how their kingdom, academy and armed forces are all merged as one, I think we can expect strict, militant fighters with advanced technology and carefully rehearsed strategies.
[Cue the arrival of Flynt and Neon, a slickly-dressed jazz trumpeter and a rainbow-colored, rollerblading cat-girl]
Weiss Schnee: Or whatever they are.

User Reviews

Mediocre. At best.
10 December 2015 | by wesselpot01See all my reviews

This episode was just... The worst of all three series. The opponent team was extremely unrealistic, and the characters of said team were too much alike their referencing characters. They should have slight references, like with the main teams. The fighting scene was the worst of all, it just didn't feel Rwby-y. Rwby fighting scenes are supposed to be flowing and artistic. This was that as well, but it just didn't feel right. The trumpet used by the enemy team used 'sound waves as attacks.' Just say that in your mind, it's ridiculous! So, as I've already said, without doubt the very worst. I would've expected so, so, so much more.
